Yeah, I guess I should have thought about that a little longer.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a new coin were released called DeezNuts.

Is this the end of Crypto? They seem to all be falling like a rock.

once a few of these are providing real world solutions and someone figures out how to provide fist to alt coin through a decent ui I think we will see more money flood in.

Significant dips are the best time to make money.

Also, crytpo has dipped multiple times in its history. Btc is still above 6k and "crypto is over"

I'm just lamenting the little bit of money that I have in it that keeps going down.

someone's TA on reddit was predicting another crash to 6k from this dip for BTC, creating a double-bottom with last crash, with a subsequent bullrun to previous ATH

I dunno if I know about all that but I'd be good with it

Mt Gox trustee might have something to say about that . Although , I saw a post on twitter by a guy named Coin Panda that the trustee doesnt have authorization to dump the remaining BTC until September . He also says Kobayashi has sold enough BTC to cover the creditors losses over the Mt Gox insolvency and remaining 160 k BTC may be distributed to the creditors themselves instead of dumped . Who knows, hope he's right. He also posted the court filings which seem to back up his assumptions .

Good news is that, the next court proceeding for Mt Gox bankruptcy won't happen until Sep 18, 2018. Before then, Nobuaki Kobayashi will not have authorization to dump the remaining 160k #Bitcoin $BTC on open market.

Has anyone done their 2017 taxes yet?

Let's say you bought VEN with ETH on 12/15/2017. Do you need to go back and find out what ETH was worth in USD on 12/15?

I didn't start crypto until December. I didn't actually have VEN, it was just an example.

Have you/anyone used cointracking.info and just uploaded all your transactions to figure it out for you?

I took some gains in Dec, but mine was pretty straightforward when I did my taxes. Only held ETH then. And moving forward, I'll just focus on my coinbase transactions and m not going to worry about crypto to crypto. That's not an advice.

That's why I'm not tracking my crypto to crypto for tax purposes. It gets complicated real quick. Will only pay attention to coinbase.

If I trade in/out of ven and pick up more coins in the process, but meanwhile the market was down and the USD value is worse...is that a gain or a loss?
