Because it has no intrinsic value, and I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing. Its value is directly predicated on faith and perception, so panics and bull runs will both be exaggerated.

I also sold my ETH shares Due to stabilization. I bought at $150 today and sold at $163. I made $78 in 2 hours which isn't bad.

So if I want to buy a currency that isn't exactly a bigger one, I need to deposit money into coinbase, purchase some BTC or ETH and then send that to a wallet, then from the wallet, I need to send it to an exchange like Bittrex where I can then exchange the bigger currency for the smaller currency I'm looking to buy? Is that how that process would work?
I've spent so much time reading about different currencies that I've found a couple that I like and want to invest in, but I haven't figured out how to do that just yet

Ah ok. So when I send funds from Coinbase, I see that I can put in an email address. Does that mean when I log into Bittrex to my account under the same email, the BTC will be available to me there?
