Randomly ended up with .3 ETH due to an error on one of the exchanges. Should I stick it in a cheaper coin like DGB or Golem and hope for a quick moon mission?

I transferred ETH to bitfinex. So can I buy IOTA with the ETH or only BTC? Can I transfer my ETH to BTC on bitfinex, then buy IOTA?

You can buy IOTA with either BTC or USD at the moment. You'll have to sell your ETH for either BTC or USD and then use that to purchase IOTA.
