How is the fact that a token might be useful make it valueable? Ive never understood this sentiment.
How scarce is it?
How much more will be created, how decentralized is decision to inflate supply?
How secure is it?
How transparent is its governance?
How much energy does it take to produce more?
All those questions come first for me before usefulness if I'm gauging buying something that already has network acceptance.
If usefulness was the primary value contributor, then gold wouldn't be worth shite. It can't be utterly worthless with 0 utility or else we are talking tulips, but it's low on the value totem pole imo.
The above is why btc is really the only coin that makes sense to me to hold outside of pure momentum plays and, gasp, ponzi action.
