I should have listened to my grandma when I told
her about Bitcoin in January She told me to buy wal
Mart stock because wal marts are always packed with people. I would not be down like I am now

Average cost to mine is around 70k per coin right now.
Bitcoin doesn’t like to go much further than a 1.44 BTC/Price ratio, historically, and not for very long.
That would put a floor around 45-48k.
A lot of people are going to buy up sub-50k bitcoin even if mt gox dumps this crap all at once.
Of course, if miners just quit, mining costs go down and that changes the floor as a function of the ratio.
I’m thinking this mt gox stuff will trigger the miner capitulation necessary for the next bull run.

This is going to be an outlandishly stupid question so I apologize, but what's going on presently with Mt gox stuff? As a very small level novice in the BTC space I am aware of the mt gox hack way back when, but have no clue why it's being talked about again now or how/why it has anythign to do wiht prices falling present day. Can someone give a dumbed down ELI5 version? Thanks

A ton of supply is hitting the market to sell which is pushing down prices. We won't know what the end looks like for another few months. Could be nothing, could be ugly.

A bunch of people who bought Bitcoin extremely cheap (some sub $1) over a decade ago are getting their bitcoin back. Naturally, they are selling it
Couldn’t imagine the anxiety those folks have had for that many years watching the price of
Bitcoin go up

I think it’s ultimately going to be positive.
Weaker hands will get shaken out and the specter of Mt Gox will finally be gone. No more Gox FUD ever again.

Agree. Bitcoin is doing it's normal cleaning job to shake out weak hands. Mt Gox and Germany will be old news at some point. I'm just holding through this pullback.

Yeah I agree. Still could be a rough few months until we get an idea of who is going to hold their bitcoin and who is going to sell.
Most of these guys had Bitcoin at prices from 10 years ago so it would only be natural to take profit.

Snagged some more ETH this AM. Approaching 50 total

I put in swap orders at $45K today.

In my opinion, I think this pullback is close to done.
Volume is pretty indicative of a bottom formation having been fully priced in. MT Gox situation is hardly an effect on BTC as it is BCH, also the coins will be distributed slowly,. Furthermore, Justin Sun TRON ceo is apparently now in an off exchange deal to acquire any amount of Germany's Bitcoin they’re selling off of total holdings. I believe the 20% drop from high is already priced in and proving more resilient to downside probability.

I snagged 1k shares of FBTC in retirement account. First btc etf purchase, I own btc eth and others for a while. But felt like we are close to bottom today medium term. I am of the opinion that at the end of this year 1Q of 2025 we will all be amazed at the price of these assets. The largest brokerage in the world, Vanguard, won’t let you in these ETFs yet
