Using round numbers as an example - if you made 100 purchases of 0.01 bitcoin and sent each purchase to cold storage, then at a later date wanted to send your whole 1.0 bitcoin from cold storage to an exchange or another wallet, there would be 100 UTXOs associated with that 1.0 bitcoin.

damn! I feel like that's a pretty huge deal that is never mentioned to newbies.

Fortuantely I haven't had a cold wallet for very long and I think I've only had 3 transactions going from coinbase to the wallet. From now on I'll just leave it on coinbase for a while as you said.

No but I almost bought some Fideum straight up earlier. Didn’t have a ton of time for due diligence. Think it’ll be a mover? I don’t know much about bbank

Couple of guros I follow are big shillers of it. As always, DYOR, but in my experience with these guys, i like what they put out.

Yea this is true, however, it only rears its ugly head during bull runs. Otherwise, it is pennies to send for multiple years in a row

Just sold off my GBTC position for a near 100% gain in my ROTH IRA.

I'm a little nervous about these latest ETF amendments.

It looks like GBTC is going to have to sell of their Bitcoin, pay capital gains and then buy back.

Something to keep an eye on.

Interesting, hadn't thought about that.

I don't play around with too many calls. I have a handful of small longs that I basically use to play around with, but I don't have the balls to go big. Much respect to you.

Can’t imagine this would have a very big negative impact for very long on the market as a whole.

Good to know thanks. I threw two Eth at it I had sitting in a backup wallet. I missed @ 20% gain not pulling the trigger sooner but I need a little time to read up on it. Seems pretty promising

I got some RIOT calls when I saw your older post. Kicking myself for not going with MARA calls.

Yea I'm quite surprised RIOT gains are lagging MARAs so much here. I figured both would be pretty damn close

Tiger - I want to throw some cash at a microstrategy option going long.

Which would you suggest looking at a 1 year time frame?

I like having the strike price of a call being in an attainable, not outrageous range. Shoot for something 25-50% above current levels in a strike price. As far as timing, there are 2 schools of thought current in bitcoin twitter:

1- We are at the back end of the 2021 bull that never ended and we will see a blow off top early 2024 followed by a bear market

2- we are in the beginning of the traditional 4 year cycle

If you are in camp 1, I'd shoot for a ~April 2024 call in the ~$800 range. Attainable price at a time frame that would line up with ETF approval, flows coming in, and a blow off top

If you are in camp 2, I'd shoot for a December 2025 call (this is what I have) which will give you 2 years of runway before it expires. I'd go with the maximum strike price offered which it looks to be $880 right now. This option is pricey so be aware of that. When I got my MSTR Dec 2025 $450 strike calls a couple months ago, they were only $8k each.

On Fox Business News today on the Claman Countdown, Liz Claman discussed that sources close to the situation are saying that at least 2 of the Spot BTC ETF applications will be approved on the week of January 8th and most likely the two are BlackRock and Grayscale. She had the Grayscale CEO on her show and he said the ticker symbol will remain GBTC. He said current GBTC holders will not notice any change in their retirement and brokerage accounts and the fee will be lowered. He will announce the new fee concurrent with the approval. It was also noted there will be no selling of existing GBTC and rebuying the ETF. It will be totally seamless to existing GBTC holders (so there will be no tax implications due to the conversion).

See the 6 minute- 50 second video yourself here on Fox Business News

If all of this is true, GBTC and BTC are going to start a parabolic run at some point after the approvals are made on Jan 8th - 10th in my opinion. I'm not selling either.
