One could say this more paves the way for these institutions to provide a service that people trust. Clearly there is demand. Over a trillion of it...

Crypto community doesn't want a "service that people trust"
They want shady arse exchanges selling DogButtCoin hoping to get 2000% returns on something that is already 10000% above its all time high

That's a pretty gross exaggeration. We don't want a service we can trust, per se, but rather we want code we can trust.

I have bad news for you... Code is never perfect especially over time.. It must evolve and be maintained to stay even remotely secure. Ask anyone who has ever developed software before.
You still need a central authority you can trust to write said code. Because one update can wipe out everything

I suppose this is true to some extent, although if someone proposed a network improvement and writes and commits code to GitHub to facilitate this improvement, in the case of Bitcoin there is still the inherently democratic element that the majority of the miners would have to agree to the protocol change for it to have any teeth. If blocks using the new protocol are summarily rejected by the majority of miners, the update simply doesn’t matter.

Yeah, there's obviously nuance to my statement. Audits, consensus, improvements, etc. are all needed, but at least a code by consensus and open to view has more trust than a 30 year old billionaire that came out of nowhere.

Millions are moving out of FTX wallets. This is not financial advice. I am personally not buying any crypto at the moment. We are about to see a huge drop in value. If you are deep into shitcoins, and that is everything not BTC and ETH, I'd look at an exit ramp. Good luck, gentlemen.

You should have been in stables a long time ago.

I'm so far down in crypto at the moment, I have no choice but to hold and hope. BTC purchases at 25k, Eth at 14k, Algo at 0.50, LINK at 8, CRO at 0.33, SOL at $20....

I fricked up. Tried to get cash out of FTX on Nov 8 and sent to my bank account. Should have just moved to Coinbase and sold there. frick

Luckily nothing is on FTX, I'm 100% on CB and Crypto.com

I'm lucky in that all of my shitcoins, minus Sol, are all playing with house money after skimming profits last year. I'm down hard on Sol. My average is like $70, but getting lower every week now
Good thing I consider my crypto money gone the second I buy.
I'm also down a little on BTC and ETH, but whatever, they'll be back. Ain't sweating that.

for Algo (which someone on here promoted) I put in 5k and it ran to like 2.50 and I took some profits whil leaving me a decent amount but now I'm below my buy in.
A few I did not take profits on and now regret it tbh

Get off of exchanges and onto Metamask at least. I dont think CB is going anywhere but you cant be sure right now.

For the love of GOD, WHY?
How many times will you guys get shite on before you learn to keep your shite off exchanges?
Even if they don't steal from you directly, they are using your coins for their fractional banking model that keeps prices suppressed.

Are you on any of the discords or telegrams?

Well, crypto.com accidently sent 80% of their ETH to the wrong address. They got some of it back. Good luck holding your stuff on an exchange.

Bro, I know those staking APY's are juicy, but it's not worth it to keep your crypto on exchanges right now.
If FTX can fall, so can everything else.
