What time frame do you look at reputation? 1 week? 1 month? 1 year? 10 years?
It’s different for everyone, but eventually for true participation in the market to grow the random volatility is going to have to improve. Either that or it’s just going to eventually be a bunch of “tried crypto one” people and lead to a stagnant market. JMO

So again, what time frame? Because volatility has certainly reduced from previous years as more and more adoption takes place.

How so? I don't think it is doing anything different than in the past? If anything, the volatility has lessened (as of now) because we haven't seen the 80-90% drawdown.
The big big swings I think people get and expect. And are usually event/news driven. I’m talking about the random 5-7% pump and dump on lessor timeframes. I mean just look at 4-6 he chart over the most. It’s comical. It just seems like the sideways up/down had been more prevalent lately but maybe I’m just watching closer than normal

The way I look at it is this. Its always someone’s first time to buy, so if the newbies keep getting “rugged” then eventually you run out of newbies

And it seems I’ve triggered some people. Obviously this was a little tongue and cheek. Bitcoin isn’t a shitcoin. It’s just acting like one.

Since 2016. Maybe I’m watching it closer recently but I just don’t recall so many stair step ups followed by an elevator down so frequently WITH the overall price having no trend.

No, you are just wrong. shite coins move 20-30% in a day frequently.

Ok bro. Alt coin.
Some people consider everything besides bitcoin a shitcoin.

Sounds like a shitcoin
Well, I’ve got more than my fair share of “shitcoins” that I failed to take profits at ATH and now I’m basically being held hostage till the next Bullrun or until they don’t survive this Bear Winter or whatever we’re in….. but I feel like there’s a lot of utility and potential in GTC. I love that it’s a Governance token, but what they’re trying to do for Web 3, seems like it’s way undervalued. I actually did take some profits (got a decent bag just at $8 in October, and missed that $30 peak or whatever it was a short time later, but still did pretty well at $18 as the knives continued falling a few days later.) Then I got back in at $7 in January and have averaged down pretty well to where it’s at now (like $2.70-ish). Besides Hex and Solana(which I think are both very promising as well, but obviously they both are very polarized as far as speculation and then Solana fricks around and crashes like twice a week on avg.) But I’ve placed my bets on these 3 because I feel like they are all the opposite of a “shitcoin”…..
I lost a lot of hope and trust with HEX since PulseChain didn’t drop accordingly, but I’m in way too deep to exit I feel like. And GitCoin seems to be the only thing that I see real life changing potential with (in my portfolio atm). Devs just quietly continue to Dev, it’s nowhere close to being popular or talked about yet, and I have this very good “inner gut” feeling telling me that it’ll go crazy as soon as the next Run-up happens…. It should start gaining momentum and then hopefully not have assholes embarrassing themselves on Twitter, YouTube, Discord or wherever detracting and self sabotaging it like a Do Kwon or RH.
JMHO! But I obviously know Jack shite about all of this. Just a middle aged lad trying to get ahead in a world I certainly do not fit into with my low IQ in all things tech and finance. I do read and respect a lot of your opinions and was hoping for some “AFFIRMATION” here on GTC. So…. Not the response I was hoping for

I am not sure of the tokenomics of gitcoin, but the application is good. Open-source bounties for people to work on open-source projects. They sponsor a lot of Hackathons and events too.
YES! The few actual “tech” people I know, seem to hold GTC in higher regard, so I’m kind of depending on it actually providing a service or some actual value to the space. But in this crazy world of memes and shite, a solid road map and utility doesn’t seem to guarantee anything.

Has anybody heard of chia? Been looking into this project. Tokenomics look like trash, but at some point it’ll get fully diluted.
Chia.net
Chia.net

Secure
Chia is the most decentralized blockchain ever with approximately 200,000 nodes employing the first new Nakamoto Consensus since 2009. The Chialisp on chain programming environment is fully featured while being far more auditable and secure.
quote:
Compliant
Chia believes that in order to deliver on the promise of the next generation blockchains, we must be regulatory compliant. It is our stated goal to become a public reporting company subject to the Securities Act of 1933. Chia's native currency, XCH or chia, has never been sold by Chia Network for money and we believe it will be regulated as a commodity by the CFTC.

Sustainable
With its innovative Proof Of Space and Time consensus, Chia uses 0.16% of the annual energy consumption of Bitcoin, and 0.36% of Ethereum. Chia is part of the Circular Drive Initiative that reduces e-waste through the secure reuse of storage, promoting the second use of hard drives for Chia farming.

Here we go again, boys. Gonna be a bumpy ride.
Even ethereum's merge probably won't pull us out of a bear market until inflation and fed rate hikes cool down.

I’m in it for the long haul but every time I get a notification I feel like they’re dropping 5% every 7 hours
