Also, if he sent crypto to someone else then it's also taxed IIRC.

that’s a transfer, technically not taxed unless he bought something with it

Getting pissed with Coinbase and ETH2 staking interest. I was dumb enough to stake a portion of my holdings, when advertised at 4.5%. That money is trapped. Then, it drops to 4, and to 3.68%. I feel that is breach of contract, and I should be able to move my money out. I know that won’t happen, and they can do what they want. Just venting.

so what's the Board's thoughts on Russia selling oil priced in BTC? could be amazing ... could be rough for a bit ...

this could be very BAD if those boomers in power decide "BTC bad" even though they have left Russia no fricking choice since they are largely cutoff from the Eurodollar system

fricking. Same.

I hate myself for making that commitment. And I agree, seriously feels like breach of contract on their end….. although I’m sure it was in the wording to frick us over accordingly, and I obviously signed off on it.

Yeah, then you go out into the wide world of DeFi and you realize how badly you're taking it from CB

Easiest and most liquid way to stake <16 ETH right now is through Rocketpool using rETH. I'd like to put the blame on Coinbase for their lockups/rates, and some blame lies with them, but a lot of blame lies with the slow-walk of the ETH PoS rollout.

if anyone needed more motivation to move your shite off exchanges unless you are actually planning on trading

the day will come where nations like Canada will restrict the ability to self-custody and then you are going to have to go through all sorts of hoops to ever get your shite off exchanges

Well Russia is gonna sell that oil to someone no matter what currency is used. I say Bitcoin is better then trying to force the ruble on them or worse the yuan.

Never saw the hint of greed in the USDC 0.15% or subpar rates on literally everything? Frick CB for anything but a on/off ramp.
If you are the stake type- Kraken/Celsius/Binance/defi - its alot of legwork for gains and crypto is trapped here there and yonder.

Overall, its what its design for.

Short term, just more ammo for retards like our overlords to say "SEEE BITCOIN BAD!".

Yeah, I mean frick the war, but this is exactly what it was designed for, so I'm okay with it. The FUD around it sucks, but this too shall pass.

At least you can see an end. 2 months is not that much farther. Coinbase seems to be indefinite.

Well coinbase it’s locked until ETH 2.0 and if you have followed ETH at all over the years, you would have understood that they typically miss their target dates by 3-4 years. I’m guessing those funds won’t be available until at least late 2023

think CB did say they had a plan to allow staked ETH to be traded but they are like a year behind everyone else who already allows sETH to be traded. At this point I think anyone staked with Coinbase is just in it for the long haul. Better hope Vitalik and company come through.

Am I reading this correctly?

You guys locked ethereum on coinbase until ethereum switches to pos?
