Yeah I'm invested in Polygon, but there aren't many validator nodes IIRC. L2 protocols are very centralized.

That's becoming less and less true, though it's still pretty heavily centralized. They started with 3 validators iirc.

100 nodes right now, over $2Bn staked. You can delegate Matic, so I assume they majority of these validators are pool operators.

yea that seems reasonable. not sure what the means for the future marketcaps of defi if we cant attract normie capital; even in this thread i doubt more than a handful even get off the cex

a normie is not going to be bridging to an L2 with a zk - when some doggie coin bitboy tells them to buy is on coinbase

There's more degens out there that will play in the space as time goes on than we're probably guessing, and defi can/will become more accessible. That's crypto's biggest hurdle in general atm is UX.. As time goes on that'll get better. We're just very early still.

What's most likely to happen is banks and investment firms that are getting in now will make nice, easy UIs and investment plans that take advantage of defi in the underbelly of the plan and that's how we'll capture most normie capital. It's not the decentralized utopia we'd all hope for, but really decentralization is a tool and we can all choose what level of centralization we can accept for ease of use. Most normies won't care too much, as long as it works well.

The market caps of their tokens are a different story but I believe long-term most capital deploued into DeFi will be via "crypto banks" like Celsius, Nexo, and eventually exchanges and trad banks that adapt. Then the crazies like most of us will do their own thing for higher yield

May have already been mentioned but just bringing this protocol to the board, https://www.ring.financial/.

If you are familiar with Strong Block you will understand Ring.

But here is the deal. Ring apparently just got hacked and the price per ring dropped to $100. It has recovered since then and it trading close to $400 but with one major caveat. Ring node owners can not redeem their ring rewards because of the hack. I don't know when that is about to change. However once it does change I anticipate a significant price drop. I might pick up 10 ring at that time to get my first node. Currently one ring node is rewarding each node > 0.5 ring per day.

I'm just going keep an eye on ring price action and join the discord to gather more intel before I ape in.

Ok so my quest to get HEC is finally complete. Since kucoin won't withdraw anything on the FTM network (wtf), I had to take the scenic route. Main goal was to avoid gas on ERC. Traded FTM back to USDT and then to BNB in Kucoin. Withdrew BNB from Kucoin to metamask on BSC. Swapped to DAI on pancake within BSC. Then spooky was able to bridge DAI from BSC to FTM. Then swapped on spooky from DAI to HEC.

Maybe there was a much easier way that I missed

I tried to buy more HEC yesterday and ran into the same issues as you since KuCoin disabled their connection to the FTM network.

So I changed my mind and converted my tiny gambling stack into AVAX and aped into RUG.

The past week all these DAOs are getting killed. I think the defi money that was once flowing into Olympus forks in defi are now flowing into Tomb and tomb forks.

Yeah a week after I said no more gambling, I'm right back at it. But I'm serious, no more, starting... now.

And yeah the DAOs are getting killed but it's not like anything else is going anywhere either.

I'm about even on my DAO plays simply because I was lucky enough to get a LOBIS DAO airdrop and I immediately sold. Almost half of my DAO plays are house money because of that. I'm spread out between OHM, TIME, FHM, HEC and now a little RUG. I fully expect some to these DAOs not to make it especially if the bull doesn't get cranked up again. More than $700 billion as left the crypto market in the past 7-10 days. I guess people have Christmas gifts to buy.

Beginning of the end of this bullrun gents. Set some buys for the blow off peak and then enjoy the wife changing gains (if you nail the sells too).

My bags are plenty full but I'm gonna stick to the DCA schedule and just nibble at the dips while we have them. Christmas shopping means I don't have a whole of fiat that I can convert to crypto at the moment

My crypto does two things. Goes up in value or up in SATs!
