I’m debating DCA’ing into Cardano
For the last 6 months or so, I’m holding only Cardano and Ethereum. My plan is to let Ethereum run away a bit more, then swap a nice chunk to Cardano, as it should see a similar pump in the very near future. Then balance back into BTC if the price is right.

Interesting tidbit, the first deflationary block on Ethereum happened today.
Anything over 2 ETH in that block was tips/extra gas given to miners, not newly created ETH.
Looks like gas has to be ~160 Gwei to produce deflationary blocks currently. That's some real 'spensive transactions to be deflationary.
Once PoS is live that should be reduced, I think.

Heard over 3K ETH got burned so far today, and the day isn’t over.

Basefee looks to be settling around the low 30's.
Currently less than 5% of transactions are using the new EIP1559 transaction type. Adoption will slowly rise.
And here you can see the huge NFT spike soon after 1559 went live:
https://dune.xyz/msilb7/EIP1559-Base-Fee-x-Tip-by-Block
After that spike the Basefee seems more stable.
Yesterday 4 times the amount of issuance would have been burned if PoS.

Block rewards have been close to what EIP 1559 proposed for the past 2 months so I wouldn't have expected the gas fee to drop much lower as block rewards were already 2.1 - 2.6 eth.
It should, however, make it much more stable and you wont see the big spikes anymore like a 10 eth block reward for an example.

So this ETH change was a hard fork or soft fork?

I contacted my senators and urge anyone so inclined to do the same to support the Senator Wyden, Toomey, and Lummis’s amendment to H.R. 3684 instead of the competing amendments which will seriously hamper the ability to comply with the law for large sectors of the crypto space.
This is the amendment that specifically exempts miners, stakers, software developers, and wallet providers from reporting requirements.

Finally added some of this to my portfolio. Went with BITQ as I don't know much about it and wanted to play it a little safer. Anyone else do that?

I'll look at adding BITQ into my Roth perhaps, not sure what is inside of the ETF though.
BTC making some moves today. I've heard we don't expect mountains of resistance between 41k and 50k.

I don't disagree and I don't hold it for store of value reasons. I think the amount of ETH that gets staked or pulled into DeFi does apply deflationary pressures though. BTC is my chief holding by a good margin because I just want a vehicle to store my wealth.
I just wanted direct DeFi exposure through the token.

ETH represents a network.
It's not money... not a store of value... not digital gold.
Its just a stock share of an incentivized decentralized network.
Ultrasound money meme is just to trigger bitcoiners.

quote:Same. Not sure if it will do anything but the legislation in the competing amendment will put an end to Defi and node operators.

They don’t have the technology to end DeFi. It’s literally not possible.
