So why are you getting out of ETH?

Way too many concerns with the protocol and ETH 2.0 continuing to be delayed is now a joke.

Def not me saying this unless it was 2017/2018 me

It will probably be fine but I just would rather trust in BTC over ETH at this point.

I've been following this ETH MEV issue.

Its getting bad. There is apparently there is a door open to code in the ability to go back and write over past blocks.

IF it goes through ETH will completely evaporate. Like will be totally destroyed.

Yeah. I'm considering dropping my eth out of an abundance of caution. I didn't realize until today that it is possible for that to happen with existing tech.

Hell, I'm mostly on Polygon. If Ethereum we're to go *poof* I'd be pretty hosed. Maybe should move funds to BSC.

ETH would be in there

I'd rather just consolidate into BTC at this point. Too much competition and/or issues in every coin except for BTC right now.

For those interested, a good summary video of what's happening with the ETH re-org attack that a portion of the internet is working on:

I was just coming to post that video. It's definitely something that makes me a little uneasy.

The way I'm seeing it right now.. it's kind a long shot for there to be enough hashing power to make it happen. However, it's not such a longshot as to dismiss it. It's a legitimate issue that needs to be watched very closely. If you can't watch it very closely and it's worrying you, maybe pull out ERC20 assets and go BTC, or just go fiat until this shakes out (if all ERC-20 tokens are compromised, it would cause a massive panic and market dump anyway).

To me, its not even about the hash power needed, is that there is actually this option.

If it is there now with POW, then it will be there with POS.

Centralization of "power" is less secure in POS than with POW.

POS will be easier to apply these attacks than with POW.

It's still be feasible in PoS, but my understanding is that will be harder because of things that are to be implemented in ETH2.

If its feasible then its feasible. POS is 100% reliant on distribution of validators which, as I have read, is going to be heavily regulated by the DEV team. To me, it looks like it would be more centralized than the mining pools.

Today, miners are a check against the DEV team. Once ETH 2.0 goes live, if it ever does, the DEV team can do whatever it wants. They will never NOT have majority voting powers via staking.

I’m afraid eth might have a fall from grace after the swap, but who really knows?

Eth being PoW was probably one of the big reasons it overshadowed other protocol driven tokens.

I’m admittedly ignorant about this but I don’t really see the difference in eth, ada, whatever, once eth goes PoS. Seems like you’d be better off going with a token that was designed at the start to be PoS rather than changing horses in the middle of the stream.

I saw that, and they have a ton of TVL already.. but I'm not keen on them anymore. There's been a couple of different articles that have come up proving that the dev team was acting pretty shady with their collapse situation, quite possibly involved in the collapse of their own token.

I definitely won't be an early adopter there.

Im not sure if eth will be completely destroyed bc even shitcoins like eth classic still exist lol but I think it's wise to take caution

that's the thing, Bitcoin is a political play (decentralized, immutable money)

all this other stuff is "tech" and the "true" value of it is still largely up in the air.

could be worth a lot more or a lot less, just my opinion tho

yeah I’m not messing with the new coin. They’ve got a USDT-USDC-Dai LP that I threw into polycat to autocompound into more of that LP. Figure I can rake in more stables while the apr is inflated
