Hedge fund borrow btc to sell shares. Shares didn’t appreciate much, investors sell shares back. Hedge funds have to payback btc (putting it back on the market). Basically a very large option expiry. There are quite a few articles postulating the large greyscale btc purchase in 2020 is what was responsible for the massive run up.
They are “neutral” exchanges in the sense that the buys and sells don’t occur on the open market but they do remove/add liquidity from the market. Heavily influences price of a scarce asset like BTC.
ETA: people who think this is bullish think the hedge funds will have to buy btc to payback the btc they borrowed but I don’t fully understand that. I’m not sure why they can’t just pay back the original borrowed btc with…the original borrowed btc.

I would think this would apply if they sold btc and took profits before it dropped?

That’s certainly possible, but they could just pay back usd equivalent from profits. I guess it depends on the original terms. Were I the entity that lent them the btc, I’d rather just get the usd equivalent at this point.

having government allies will be beneficial in the years that come as DeFi brings the pain to banking institutions and as scarce digital assets threaten traditional financial instruments like treasury bonds and certificates of deposits.

Anyone having issues with the crypto.com app? Tried to buy today and have been declined all afternoon.
And no - it's not due to insufficient funds.

Solana's Proof Of History is what Ethereum wishes to become when 2.0 is released. SOL is where it's at. I haven't started any Raydium farms yet. How is it going for you guys?

I've got a little bit in the Raydium-Solana LP farm making ~45%. I've got most of my SOL in just regular staking making ~7%.

I am pretty heavy in pancake swap. Haven't pulled the trigger yet on Solana. Just doing some research etc.

Just get into DEFI. You can, IMO, with reasonable risk stake/pool/farm for 100% returns.
Solana is looking really juicy right now though!

are you also doing raydium-sol ?

Great one on Polygon right now is Augury.finance. You can stake their native OMEN/USDC Quickswap LP for ~650-700% APR right now, and the token has stabilized and is slowly increasing in value, even through this dip today. Their LP program on OMEN will end at the end of August.
They have the typical "use case" as any other typical farm that is trying to give their coin a use, but I'm just taking my rewards and converting them to USDC every day, about 2% of my staked amount. It's pretty incredible.

Not yet. I will start next week. My plan is to leave my assets on pancake and start all new money towards Solana. Just wont be able to start until next week.
