Vastly underrated and underappreciated post right here. Majority of folks are not knowledgeable enough to understand the ins and outs of crypto

For real, you have people on this very board saying an individual coin price is the metric to determine value and size and not market cap.

So much overhead supply. Gonna take a long time to get past the mid40s without a real positive catalyst and there doesn’t appear to be one on the horizon. Bitcoin has had drops of at least 30% in each of the last 5 months so a summer of boring ranging would really be healthy.

Much better r:r in alts at these levels if one believes it isn’t crypto winter and just a temporary BTC supply flood due China, Grayscale, and forced liquidations. If it is crypto winter then obviously alts are gonna get rekt. Important to have a plan and not emotionally trade. If there is an excessive move tomorrow I’ll probably fade it, looking to buy a nuke or sell a rip if we see the 40s again.

I’ll also add that the events of the last couple weeks likely kill any hope for a bitcoin or crypto ETF anytime soon. The ESG/China FUD and the price being heavily influenced by leveraged trading on unregulated offshore exchanges aren’t new but happened when bitcoin was in the limelight ready for its moment.

Probably the best explanation of an X-Factor, ever!

I really don’t see that. Why would you risk buying at 56k again if you think 80 is the top? It won’t even 2x.

thats a short term mindset imo. i had previously non-believer folks asking me how to buy BTC when it was in the 50k area, they laughed at me for buying fake money when it was 5k. they werent the type who was doing TA/considering potential tops and bottoms. they were wanting to buy in bc crypto is gaining notoriety.

if youre looking at least after the next halving or beyond even the ATH is probably not a bad buy. I agree there may be more short term wreckage but i think opening long positions even at ATH isnt a terrible move for low crypto-IQ folks who won't sell dips.

Near this cycles ATH is a pretty bad buy even from a long term mindset due to opportunity cost.

idk from a long perspective that hasn't quite been historically accurate. even at the ATH 20k era if you held youre up around 90%. that's not bad growth in ~4 years. but yes it obviously is better to not buy at ATH.

again im more referring to folks that don't know the space well and will buy/hold for well over 5 years who would otherwise just keep that money in a savings account. In my experience those are the types of folks who were wanting to buy in recently, the crypto knowledgeable have already bought in a while ago. I think that is a good indicator for long term growth/adoption that they were wanting to buy in even at the 50k area.

Yeah but the people you’re describing don’t move the market.

I’m saying there won’t be enough big money buying at 55k resistance to shove past it because the risk/reward is shitty, unless there’s some major catalyst.

I think we keep seeing the pattern of massive dips with a rise and then massive dips etc like we have seen the last 2 weeks. I don't think BTC breaks $45k until we can get past whatever is causing this cycle.

Bear markets are damn easy because there’s defined resistance all over the place. Just have to control your emotions.

How about if I want to buy during these massive dips and Voyager has been down 3 times now during these opportunities? Has nothing to do with selling. It is buying that I was missing out on. I ditched it because it is a mickey mouse platform that isn't stable. Seems their CEO is sending out excuse emails 3 or 4 times a week for their bad service. I wanted to like and use Voyager. It is simply a bad service.
