I don’t play in crypto bc I honestly don’t understand how something with nothing to back it can be worth anything.... having said that, out of the ones I’m familiar with or heard of, how is Doge not higher than it is?

I mean youve got Musk, Cuban, Portnoy all pumping this thing...

I think he’s confusing success with price per.

Not everyone knows that some coins have unlimited quantity in circulation while others are limited.

Dogecoin currently at 90.3B market cap makes it 164 largest "company" below Altria (MO), but above BP.

That is exactly what he is doing. Maybe I'm just tired of telling people coin price means absolutely nothing in terms of how big or expensive a coin is. Circulating supply is different for every coin.

Do people not realize stocks have different circulating supplies? It is the same concept. Google at $2,000+ isn't bigger than Apple at $120+

So you must not trust the Gov and their empty promise
Of backing the USD$ as trusted form of exchange for goods and services, considering that they made this promise while simultaneously removing the actual physical gold backing of the USD that was the foundation for origibal acceptance of the government’s currency.

But if you do, Welp feel free to continue putting faith in a system that died decades ago while giving warning signs in 3 40-50% collapses over only 20 years. Systemic heart attacks. The politicians have no more illusions of pretending to care, and have gone so far as to unapologeticly behave like kingdoms and royalty of old.

Crypto could be the cure, but the current power complex will fight it to the death in desperation of maintaining power. The logic behind peer to peer decentralized public ledger based system that is not dependent on trust in an intermediary is fascinating and genius. I’m a believer that this could survive human nature

It's on Bittrex

I'd set up coinbase pro and bittrex and transfer via another crypto to bittrex so you don't have to pay fees

And people wonder why I haven’t sold Link yet

CE, I saw you making a comment yesterday about continuing to buy the dips on LINK

With the recent steady uptick how do you define the dips during such a period?

I saw it had briefly crossed the $51 mark yesterday and I just bought in more at $47.97 I don't know if that could reasonably be considered a dip despite it being off the recent all time highs.

I'm not very heavy into any of the crypto stuff just yet, I'm just wondering what your methodology is for defining entry points to purchase more in this environment.

mine is usually a 10-15% drop from the 2-3 day average. Now sometimes it drops further and if I have available funds I will throw some more into a crypto.

We’ll the first problem here is comparing a ledger based system of P2P value transferring to a capitalism based company created to fill a need that consumers are willing to pay for and it’s existence is dependent on the P/L of the operation needed to produce it. The value of companies is based on what the market dictates over time and validated by the generally accepted accounting rules while calculating the inflation discounted expected future cash flows as a means to specify risks and predicting the company’s growth which should ultimately translate in share price appreciation by the market.

Crypo has one trait that’s similar to anything in that word salad above

The value of a Cryptocurrency is what the market is willing to pay for it. Pure capitalism without central authority risks we have been exposed to that threatens our way of life When something is originally designed and promised to be manipulated in effort to sustain a system of power, you just know it will also be used to cheat because we are human and stupid sometimes

That seems like something that wouldn't happen very often obviously

I suppose if you're just accumulating funds and are patient enough to wait for this type of drop it makes sense though

Some of us wait even longer because of risk aversion.

Right now I’m “losing” money because I’m a pussy and not trading. Rather stake my coins for guaranteed returns because I can’t read anything that’s going on right now and I’d just rather not.

That being said, Bitcoin slowly rising. We may get our answer soon as to what phase we are in if it challenges the 64k resistance.

I was pointing out an interesting comparison on market cap value that the market has placed on popular a Crypto versus fairly well known companies.

Total Number of (Shares or Coins) * (Share or Coin) Price

Many large cap companies and certain Cryptos like doge are very liquid and quickly converted. So the comparison was also in USD. Cryptos have a unique trait in that they can easily be converted to different currencies (defi and fiat) around the clock.
