What’s the best way to buy bitcoin? I know a few years mtgox got hacked and people lost their shite. Is it possible to buy and keep the key or whatever on hand so it can’t be stolen? I’ve followed bitcoin but haven’t ever really looked into the ins and outs.

You’re thinking of a cold wallet (or a paper wallet) where you are in possession of your private key and it isn’t hosted on an exchange.
I personally have one with the majority of my portfolio hosted. I use the Ledger Nano S.
The OP should really be updated with some of the more commonly asked questions that come up in this thread

If you want a new coin that is gaining traction check out safemoon - you can get a ton for cheap and it’s growing like going busters
(I have this bookmarked - I didn’t see the safemoon thread)!

Anyone can build their own. Just because they aren’t doesn’t make it less of a middleware.

Some pretty bad arse middle ware

It’s like investing in a tire manufacturer when you learned of Tesla. “Every Tesla will need tires!”
What has the bigger upside? The blockchain project or middleware?
Obviously a rising tide lifts all boats.
ChainLink isn’t even revolutionary. It’s just a tokenized Oracle. If anything it adds bloat.
At some point, as companies move on the chain, there won’t be a need to connect on and off chain.

When you are sitting on a pile of LINK today bought under $1 then being right or wrong about the tech don't fricking matter.

Link will have already cemented its place in history before this happens.

I’ve really failed this bull run in any new investments I’ve thrown money at. Only thing I’ve made a little on is BNT. Bailed on Amp and File way too early and bought a bag of eXRD that hasn’t done jack. Other crap investments were in Dip , DSLA, and something called GainsFarm

If we ever get to this point everyone in this thread will be on their own private island. Who cares? 1/10 FUD

Just started out with 200 in Bitcoin and 100 in Bitcoin gold. Dipping my toe in the water.

1/10 FUD? Lol no. I’m looking for what can 10X the most.
I never said you couldn’t make money on link lol. Just if I was to look at ETH VS Link in the long run, it would make more since that once ETH 2.0 hits it outperforms Link.
That’s all. And like Rocket said, Doge makes everyone look silly. Ha.

Sitting here with all this Doge coin that I paid almost nothing for and it’s tough to know what to do.
On the one hand I’ve made a 1000% profit if I sell it, seems great
On the other hand I paid so little for it seems reasonable to leave it in and see if it actually approaches $1
