as of now, it’s helping disprove the entire concept of ETH.
you can’t have a decentralized computer without insane fees.
Yes you can. Its called Proof of Stake. Also, BTC's fees are no where near ETH gas fees.
Lastly, ETH, BTC, et all doesn't just print coins when the economy crashes. This alone, IMO, gives crypto its value.
When the crashes happened with BTC. They didnt just start printing more. When the US economy crashes, what do our overlords do?
ETH has high gas fees and problems with scalability. So what do they do? They work on network/protocol/infrastructure upgrades. They dont just go print more.
People see this. Those who dont will be the real losers in all of it.
Decentralization doesn't have to mean all aspects, but ETH, BTC, etc are far more decentralized from a finance perspective than any FIAT known to man.

BTC fees are actually worse than ETH fees. It’s just distorted because of smart contracts but the fee issues face both of them

Avax is decentralized with way lower fees than eth

yeah, and the only way fees are mitigated on BTC is with lightning.. and the lightning network is growing increasingly centralized

Have you ever used LN? Anybody else here ever actually use LN?
Legit interested to hear feedback on it. You can find much info out there trashing it as well as saying it works flawlessly.

it works flawlessly on the strike app, you can download it now and try, i think they give you a free $5 for signing up but yeah, its centralized and just settled off the base layer

Nope, never used it. The only time I had to pay actual BTC fees was transferring me entire stack from my Nano to Coldcard. Wasn't too bad - a tiny fraction of the overall value moved.

Interesting project. I wonder if it is possible to do a feeless protocol?

Yea pretty much all of the people "getting paid in bitcoin" throughout the news lately are doing so through Lightning on the Strike app. Seems to be working fine.
Posted on 4/12/21 at 2:11 pm to TigerTatorTots
yeah it works well but there is a lot of FUD around lightning because if it succeeds then hundreds of payment coins are irrelevant

Yea I mine ETH and get paid in BTC. I the transfer uses lightning.
On average, I can move $100 worth of BTC daily for 10 cents to a dollar. I can check the fees before I move as well.

Anyone use one of those coin mixing services? Every single sat I own is KYCed and I'd like to have a stack that no one knows about.

I set up an account with Bisq last night, will try it out this evening with some funds.
Posted on 4/12/21 at 3:16 pm to Scoobs
What do they charge to do it?
ETA: Oh Bisq just looks like a decentralized exchange and not one of those coin mixing services.

We have contango with BTC front month over $60K, and as wide of a gap between front month and spot as we've ever seen recently, and especially at the $60K level.
I'm not much of a chart reader, and not ready to say we've clearly breached resistance. But this is an interesting period we're in right now. I'm seeing first level short term resistance at $60,200. Maybe in the next day or so. And first level short term support at $59,625.
What say the chart readers on here?
