You still payed $23500. If you could sell private party for more than $5500 you lost on that. If you put $5500 cash down to finance at $18k would you still think $18k got you into the vehicle? I am not harping on you, but the vehicle is $23.5k, plus taxes, and interest if financing. Taxes could be minimized by the trade in. shite, I was PO'd a new set of Michelins set me back $900+ last week.
