I work for a FAANG and another tech company before. What I learned is there typically isn't much flexibility on the base salary but a good bit of wiggle room on RSUs and and sign-on bonus. I got them to come up another ~40% on RSUs without a competing offer.

Even if you don't have that competing offer yet, I'd say that you are in a final stages and indications are my offer will be $X

I work for a FAANG, the only thing that matters is RSU's.

Take less salary and max out as much of the RSU's as you can get out of them.

Depends on your risk profile. But I don’t think you should take “less salary”.

Netflix and Facebook are down ~30% over the last year. That’s a big change in compensation and why you shouldn’t only hang your hat on RSUs
