There is a petition to get them to offer pass or no credit to the online mba students for ap2. Saw it on the Facebook group.

For those that haven't scheduled their last tests for this week on Proctor U, you better do it quickly. As of now there are only slots open for Sunday. I'm assuming all of the online classes outside of the MBA program have flooded the system.

Good lord. They need not remain in the program if they want pass / no credit implemented for an online course.

Well I did it. I finished my last exam and am done with the program. I know many people have left this group and migrated to the FB page, but I just wanted to thank those that came before me and helped steer me away from group work and towards the best professor. Also want to give a quick rundown of my experience and hope it helps someone else.

Semester 1
MKT 701 Kahn. I personally enjoyed it, but I’m in the minority.
Difficulty: 4 out of 5
Time Required: 10-12 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

Semester 2
FIN 701-Vines. Difficult to navigate but a good guy and passable class.
Difficulty: 3.5 out of 5
Time Required: 6-8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: B

Semester 3
ACCT 701-Yin- Not too difficult but not a fan of her structure. Big on trick questions. If the answer is 10% your choices are 1, .1, .001, .01.
Difficulty: 3 out of 5
Time Required: 6-8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: B

Semester 4
FIN 720- Hsiesh-The second most difficult course in the program for me. Expect tons of math. But you can use excel.
Difficulty: 4.5 out of 5
Time Required: 8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

Semester 5
ISDS 705- Lin (not Lind). Easiest course in the program. Does Lin really exist?
Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Time Required: 3-4 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

FIN 730-Choi- Easy course. Little math. Mostly concepts
Difficulty: 2.5 out of 5
Time Required: 5 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

Semester 6

ECON 705-Fawaz- Probably my favorite instructor in the program. Content is fairly difficult bur passable.
Difficulty: 3.5 out of 5
Time Required: 5 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

MADM 701- Heller- Time consuming but fairly easy if you’re good at memorizing notes. Tests are open book.
Difficulty: 3.5 out of 5
Time Required: 7 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

Semester 7

MADM 760-Heller. Again, not difficult but time consuming and a bit boring. Weekly papers. Some weeks two papers.
Difficulty: 3.5 out of 5
Time Required: 8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A

FIN 740-Sung Kim. Most difficult course I’ve taken. I don’t know how anyone could pass without additional resources. I lucked up and was invited to a “groupme” where we all discussed the content (within honor code limits) and shared outside resources. Not a recommended class in my opinion.
Difficulty: 5 out of 5
Time Required: 8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: B

Typically on the Monday after each session ends there is a brief, 5 question survey on Moodle for each class. It covers general topics that you should have learned from the course. Its not for a grade, but for school accreditation purposes.

What are the options other than Meeks for MADM 751? Is he the only one teaching the course?

I’ve never seen anyone else teach it.
I never had Meeks, but he has good reviews.

For Spring 2020 AP2, I just completed:

FIN 720 - Hsieh
MKT 701 - Si Chen

FIN 720 was a challenge but I took him for FIN 710, so I knew what to expect. His textbook is easy to follow and you do have to teach yourself, but the ability to use the text for the exams is clutch. I earned an A in both of his classes.

MKT 701 was a breeze. The 3 case studies and 6 discussion questions padded my grade significantly. I aced the 3 exams by watching her presentations of the power points and studying those. Reading the text is optional, however it is good to do if you have the time.

Personally, I don't see much difference between Vines and Meeks, just not teaching styles that work for me. Thanks.
