Winchester, you took the words right out of my mouth. That assignment seemed like 10 or 12 different questions and my response did end up being 9 or 10 pages.

In my marketing 701 class we had a forum within Moodle where we could ask the teacher questions and communicate with other students. I'm not sure why we don't have that in this class. I feel isolated and in the dark.

Yeah, I agree about the lack of communication. Plus, the reassigned coach after week 1 was an odd move.

Agreed socal77. A general discussion forum would be nice to have. At the least it would allow for some encouragement. Who did you have for MKT 701 and was that a pretty demanding/time consuming course?

I had James. She's an amazing communicator so I think I was spoiled by her and expect the same from all professors. You have to write two papers. One of them is a marketing plan. The weekly assignments and quizzes are light. Just pace yourself on the papers and write a little bit each week.

Thanks for the info. Have you guys taken your concentration classes yet? I'm just getting a general MBA so I'm looking for the easiest 2 classes to fill the electives requirement, any ideas?

How does MADM 701 compare to MADM 720 with writing?

ECON 705 is a little more difficult than the other classes I have taken so far. You have a test every week and that is 60% of your grade. The other 40% essentially comes from quizzes and you should be able to get 100% on all becasue you get 2 attempts and if you miss a question it gives you the right answer or hints. The exams are more difficult though. He will give you an outline of the questions but you need to know how to work the problems.

Not in LSUS, but my MBA601 Accounting for Managers course has been intense. Should wrap up after Thanksgiving, and ready for a break.

Paul Allen who was the instructor for your MADM 720 and 760 courses? You mentioned that 720 has less writing, are there just more quizzes and tests in that class?

I need a break from all the writing in these first two courses I've taken (MKT 701 & MADM 701). I'm hoping FIN 701 in the next term is very little writing! :)

Paul Allen and socal77 do either of you guys remember getting an email about the word count for our "assignments" papers in MADM 701? In Moodle Dr. Williams says the word count should be 1000 per chapter but our syllabus says 500 per chapter. I don't remember getting an email stating the change.

I thought it was 500 per chapter. So for instance, the weekly Round-up covers 2 chapters. Hence, it should be 500 + 500 = 1,000 word minimum. I just went and looked at Dr. Williams' comments from this week's Module #4 and your right, she does seem to change it to 1,000 minimum I just emailed my coach to get clarification.

The syllabus and instructions have been confusing to me from the beginning. I've reached out to my coach numerous times for clarification.

Good god, I hope not. I've just been doing 500 words per chapter. Of course with all the questions on last weeks assignment, I probably had close to 1500 or more.

I received an email back from my academic coach and she said the word count on Moodle was a typo. She then wrote that the minimum word count is what the syllabus states: 500 per chapter for a total of 1000 overall. She said she would send something out shortly to clarify the typo.

500/500 is what I recall. 1000 total. I am usually around 1300 or so total.

I just received the email the coach sent out, explaining the typo.

I can't help but think this could have been handled easily if a Moodle forum was set up for those of us in this class. I had this in MKT 701 and it worked great. To be honest, I assumed it was standard practice to have a student forum in every class.
