Having initiative and wanting to be proactive is not encouraged in this program from what I have seen.
It really depends on the course and instructor. I'm over half way through the program and most of those courses haven't actively prevented you from working ahead if you wanted to.

Last term there was a note by one of my instructors that they're no longer allowed to have people start work before the start of class.

I remember seeing this and asking about it. IIRC, they said it gives an unfair advantage to some students.

I have a feeling that this new policy of not starting classes early may have been dictated by the AACSB accrediation board. I know new AACSB requirements were the reason they added ProctorU and Proctorio to most classes last year.

ACCT701 with Ambrosio. Started reading today and taking notes. Any advice from those who have taken him before? He has 1 quiz and 1 assignment each week and then a final exam in week 7. Does not seem like a lot of work to go along with the readings. How are the assignments? The quiz's seem like they will be easy

I am starting a new job here fairly soon with lots of travel. I am wondering if my first course should be something other than Mkt 701 with James. To late to switch?

How soon is soon? May be good to knock it out before you are expected to perform in your new position. I start my new job next Monday but decided to stay in MADM 701 which i have gatheree is one of the most tme consuming courses. My onboarding is 6 weeks. I will be done with MADM 701 by then.

I really meant from week to week rather than before a class has even started but I saw the same note.

I do wonder what the impact will be to the whole program but they can never entirely prevent you from working ahead to some degree. The syllabus will typically list what chapters you'll be covering each week in your textbook. There's rarely something preventing you from reading ahead, taking notes, and working practice questions or creating a study guide for yourself before a specific chapter is assigned.

Whether that meets the criteria of "being proactive" is up to each student.

As of right now if I stay with my current company The expectations and workload will be fairly immediate. I also have an offer on the table for another company which means the next 3-4 weeks would be putting my notice in and on boarding. I may just stick it out.

I got the same email. Looked her up on RMP and she has excellent reviews if it’s the same person. She is the online programs manager at LSU

Getting very frustrated with ISDS 715.

It is the first day. Module 1 is not open. There is not a forum to ask questions. No text to be able to read. Nothing. I know this is his first class but this isn't acceptable. He should at least have an introduction email or forum post.

Who do you have? I took ISDS 705 last term and there was no forum and the Moodle page was pretty blank. The only graded assignments were 4 exams.

Sorry about that. I read that as ISDS 705. If it makes you feel any better, nothing has been posted for ISDS 702 other than the professor's intro.

Happy Monday! Best of luck to everyone on starting class today!

You can only take classes under AP1 for spring 1st semester and AP2 for the second semester. The AP sections are for the MBA program

If they aren't showing up, that means they are full. I've already registered for my AP2 courses

Hello everyone,
I just started my Fin with Vines. There is no textbook, just his typed out comments on 12 pages. Some links to youtube also. Anyone have suggestions on how to survive his class?
Having your whole grade depend on just 4 exams that are 10 questions/5 points each is a bit unnerving to me lol.
