What's the best mortgage company out there for a refi.

Go to an advisory/brokerage type site where you put in your info and then get contacted by multiple companies. Makes shopping around much easier. Get multiple quotes, and you can beat down some with other lower quotes if you like them better.

Definitely dont just do 1 quote and ride with them.

What state do you live in? Local companies can answer all your questions, get you in the best product for your financial needs. I would not recommend putting your number out there on internet mortgage companies. You will get bombarded with calls

This sounds like a great way to get on all of the calling lists and be badgered nonstop.

We're in Baton Rouge and have used Regions Mortgage for my initial mortgage and my refi and have been satisfied.

You dont have to put your phone number in all of them, some just email.

When I did my phone number and email last year I got contacted by only 3 companies, not dozens. And certainly didnt see any uptick in spam calls. All 3 were really professional. I ended up with loandepot, very easy to work with.

Search on here, there are countless refinance threads you can look into to figure which ones have the best options for you.

I second this. I was getting calls at 8.30pm almost everyday for 2 weeks. I would select a few and just see if they can pre-approve you. You shouldn’t get all the spam.

Xplore federal credit Union was super convenient for me, with low fees and rates. I find credit unions tend to be superior for something like that.

Online mortgage lenders beat the F out of local ones for my refinance. Mine was jumbo, so it might have affected things, but loan depot was super easy

I would recommend getting initial quotes/estimates from Better.com and Bank Rate. Once you get those quotes, ask your friends for some local lenders and see if they can match. I’m refinancing with Better right now and it’s been a relatively simple process. They are also offering a $2000 credit for Amex card holders which is why I chose them over the local banks.

Be careful if you put your info into Lending Tree’s website. I got bombarded with calls after I did that.

Yes, agree. If you are in LA or MS, I can review your loan estimate and see where the rates/fees my differ than local investors.

I use zillow mortgage rate tool to find the most competitive rates. It has worked out well for me for the few loans/refis I've done, which were all small/relatively unknown companies used.
