The Mrs’ vehicle has been showing its age (‘07) and we have known we are going to have to replace it.

Given the current uncertainty, is now a good time to buy? I’m comfortable with it financially.

Just want to know how much of a better deal I can get on a used vehicle at this time. Looking at a 2015 Mercedes GLK.

Thanks

Great time to buy for interest rates. Haven't seen what rates on car purchases are doing, but I'm sure you could get ~ 2.0% or less depending on your credit.

Also, dealerships are probably going to start feeling the pain soon and lowering prices. I've had my eye one a particular car and I'm waiting a bit longer to see if better deals pop up + waiting to see if the new model year comes out (probably delayed given the crisis), which may lead to more inventory-clearing incentives.

May not be a bad idea to reach out to a dealer that has the car you want and make an offer at your price point. If they say yes, then great. If they say no, then walk and they may come crawling back to you in a couple weeks at this current trajectory

We have one. Drives nice, good looking car, but they (and a lot of MB) products have the Takata airbags with the exploding inflators and MB is slow rolling replacement parts hoping the longer they wait, the fewer they will have to replace. We were notified of the recall 3/2019, MBUSA says no replacement parts till after 10/2020. There are other issues as well like transfer cases going bad in 4matic models.

Meanwhile, most other manufacturers have already dealt with their airbag issues. Volvo continued to use European designed airbags and never had this issue. I actually wanted to sell it and get a pre 2012 Acura RDX (timing chain vs belt).

Might consider another manufacturer over MB. The star isn’t what it was in the days of the w12x models.

LINK

Is a good place to vet issues by make, model, and year.

GM just announced 0% interest for 84 months on select models as well as deferred payments of 120 days

I think ford had also, waiting on Toyota to do the same. I’ve usually always bought a used tundra and will finally pull the trigger on a new one.

Answer to your question is yes. I purchased a car in February. All the other dealers I had met with before finding a car have started blowing me up in the last week with good offers. They’ve had no foot traffic in the last few weeks so you should be able to take them to the cleaners if your disciplined.

RAM has 0% for 84 months right now as well. I might have to start truck shopping soon. Something good has to come out of this.

Keep is doing something similar 0% for 84 months and no payment for 90 days.

We are considering getting another GC but they don’t have any with the options we want right now.

ETA: I really want us to get the Telluride for our 2nd car but my wife is dead-set on a V8 and it’s her car

Toyota wont do special rates past 72 months; 2020 tundra has been 0% for 60/72 months since last year, if you cant afford 0% @ 72 months, u cant afford 0% @ 84 months bro

It is a good time. Dealers and manufacturers are both freaking out. Plus interest rates are cheap.

Anyone have any good recommendations for a used car lender? Is a local credit union usually the best way to go?

1500 only? Or 2500 also? Might be time for a new 2500 crew cab.

I just put $3000 in my 05 suv. It’s got 121,000 miles on it. Hopefully I can get it to 200,000.

Dude, get a used Lexus unless you have stupid money. Major savings on it vs. MB maintenance.
