Towards the bottom of the article

quote:

According to details of the bill released Thursday, Senate Republicans propose to give a $1,200 check to every American adult with an income under $75,000, decreasing gradually after that and zeroing out at $99,000 income. Checks would fall to $600 for those with little or no income tax liability, and $500 would be added in per child. The eligibility would be based on 2018 tax filings.

Last details I read said individuals making up to $75,000 annually would be eligible for a $1,200 check from the federal government. The payments would decrease by $5 for each $100 earned over $75,000. The payment would phase out entirely for individuals making more than $99,000 annually.

For married couples over $150,000, the payment would also decline gradually phasing out completely over $198,00.

It’s a poorly worded version of this.

quote:

The plan’s provisions are very simple. Adults would get $1,200 each and children $500 each. At higher incomes, the checks would get smaller: The benefit would start decreasing at a rate of $5 for every additional $100 in income. The phaseout starts at $75,000 in adjusted gross income for singles, $112,500 for heads of household, and $150,000 for married couples filing jointly; it would phase out entirely by $99,000 for singles and $198,000 for couples (with no children

Panic averted. Wife and I are still getting our Trump money.

Bernie proposes a universal 2k check for every month that the crisis lasts.

That's roughly 420 billion per month for the 210 million adults in America.

That isn't the worst way he would spend our money and this isn't the worst idea he has come up with.

If im not mistaken if you make

99,000 you would get a like a $5 check.

The language says under $75K= $1200
For every $100 over 75K you "lose" $5.
So for every $1,000 over 75K your payout would be $50 less. Up to $99K where it phases out.

Is that income based on your 2019 tax returns?

Read an article saying that it was 2019 return if you had filed 2019. If you had not filed 2019 yet, it was your 2018 tax return. This is all kind of moot as nothing has been passed.

Unless the verbiage changed from last night, it started to phase out for individuals above $75k and was completely gone by $99k.

I think they said it was based on 2018 since many haven’t filed 2019.

I’ve done both. We made just north of six figures in 2019 and almost 20k below in 2018 because I had a career reboot.

Either way I’m getting my Trump money. Unless the democrats mess this up.

I predict Best Buy will move lots of 4K TVs to the poor demographic.

Meanwhile I’ll top off my EFund as we prepare for our second child in July.
