Most people including myself do not keep cash on hand. When something comes up like a hurricane I will go to the bank and remove $1,000. Business owners usually get about $5,000 out.

I have a lot more than that, but I’m probably going to put some in the bank to invest in the stock market this week. I use mine as fun $/emergency fund. I can buy and sell things with it. I’m 42 but a little old school as well...it just makes me feel much more comfortable. Will definitely be fine if the world shuts down for a long time.

People with obscene numbers would never enter this thread. Just know that business owners that deal in a lot of cash keep A LOT OF CASH sitting in a safe in their home.

Got 2800 in a desk drawer, maybe I got lucky. Also have $400 in my vehicle as I was driving far from home a ton just in case of a lost or stolen wallet.
