Agree. Qualcomm was good to me back in the day. I added a significant amount to NVDA on Monday. Originally, bought in at 150 and again at 300. Will hold for next 12 months or so and start trimming depending on news at the time.

Will be dumping my position before earnings.
Didn't dump. Worked out for once.
Meanwhile I managed to buy SMCI at the top it appears....
eta-I didn't buy it today. Do wish I had been quick on the trigger to sell it at about 8:40...

I feel like I should trim, but I am not. I have made $56k on a $2k investment in 2017 at $35/share. Problem is it's in a taxable account. Only BTC and Link have made me more hypothetical money on a single investment.
Just going to let it ride for now. And reassess at the end of the year. I have some losers I could dump to offset the gains.

At least it’s long term gains, so wouldn’t be too bad.

He was never gonna sell. That was a cleverly hidden brag. If I had a 30 bagger i would tell everyone so I’m not mad at it.

CEO owns 96 million shares....
Blackrock owns 200 million shares...
Vanguard owns 180 million shares...
Do the math on those positions...

It’s the 3rd largest stock in the US. Do the math on their Microsoft and Apple positions.

I didn't think it was that subtle and i really do think about trimming. Then I think about the fact that I made the same investment in Tesla around the same time, but bought into the shorters and sold early.
Same with BTC, I had 10 in 2017, now it's 2...not complaining, but I could be much better off, which is why I haven't sold yet.

what happens when all these big tech companies have bought all the shovels (GPUs) they need for their gold mining operations (AI Data Centers)?

640K is all anyone will ever need

GPUs wear out with use, and new ones that are faster get developed and released every year or 2.

Well the main point is, all these big tech companies are making these mass bulk orders to build their data centers right now
after they have built up infrastructure the orders will slow down dramatically

Amazon, google and Meta are working on their own GPUs as well.
It's not going to drop overnight, but nvidia won't own the market forever. Especially when their biggest customers have the ability to make their own.

You guys have no idea what you’re talking about. NVIDIA is more than just a GPU provider.
And demand for GPUs is going nowhere anytime soon, which nvidia has a strong foothold on.

NVDA within spitting distance of Apple market cap. $2.8T to $2.9T respectively

Disagree. The appetite for these learning models is insatiable and will require continued investment in infrastructure.
The real question for Nvidia is whether a viable alternative to them emerges. Can AMD or Intel bring something forward at a discounted price that fragments the market? Economics proves out over the long-term that these outsized profits are not sustainable for a single firm.
