Anyone else's homeowner's insurance double or increase tremendously without filing a claim or anything?

Yes and I feel fortunate it only went up about 12 percent after hearing everyone else's policies. I had to switch companies though to keep the 1k deductible. Most everyone now pushes for only the 1 or 2% deductible.

Mine rose 47%. First time home buyer last year, flood zone x.

My property tax jumped similarly as well.

Good times.

Where did you find a $1k deductible? Are you talking wind/hail/hurricane or AOP?

I've heard the industry is getting away from covering roofs as much.

Man your premium must either be through the roof with a $1k deductible or the house isnt worth a bunch.

Yep unfortunately it's common for everyone here in LA. I'm a Allstate agent and we are one of the few left writing homes here and written more than ever because of it. I feel sorry for the people who live south of LaPlace because they pay out the arse now.

When Southern Fidelity crashed, the only way we could find an insurer that wasn't citizens to cover our roof was to show it was replaced within last 24 months.

Luckily, Southern Fidelity repalced ours after Zeta.

National General here as well in BR:

DEDUCTIBLE 1 - Wind/Hail $3,240 (which is 1%)
DEDUCTIBLE 2 - All Other Perils $1,000

Just under $2k year policy

in flood zone X and roof less then 10 years

My previous company folded. I got several quotes and Liberty Mutual had significantly better rates. Not sure how they are with claims yet.

Think you meant $2.8k premium with the $1k deductible.

My policy is 1% deductible at $4,280 with $1,550 premium
