You think people suggesting AMC is going down are no different than those who think it will go to $100k.

I think I’ll be alright ignoring your advice.

I think you need to read my entire post in context and not pick out one sentence. The point was that there are no absolutes. To tell someone they will lose money is an absolute just like saying shares will hit $100k is an absolute. You really do spend a lot of time worrying about a stock you have no skin in. It comes off as pathetic.
ETA:
Are there any plays that you do recommend, or do you just shite on other people's investments and wait until it does take a dip to pat yourself on the back?

A) I think Amazon is woefully undervalued, but I’ve thought that for over a year and it hasn’t mattered.
B) I don’t typically do individual stocks with any significant funds.
C) I’ve said many times in this thread and others that the dynamic of buying something that is so clearly overvalued (to me at least) is something I want to understand better. I want to make 4x in a couple months too, but I struggle to buy something that ISN’T a long term investment, so I’m trying to learn what makes these things tick - why did AMC work but CLOV doesn’t/didn’t, for example. My suspicion is that the people making money on these things are losers over the long term, but I could be wrong, so that’s why I’m here.

Pretty crazy action this morning on AMC. Was down 15% again in premarket and is up like 3% right now.

I bailed and went into RIOT. It is starting its predictable swing and I wanna make the easy cake.

The stock price of AMC is not even related to the business.
If it was.. still a long way down

I bailed for a more favorable play in RIOT. Is that so hard to understand?
Are you that hard on to be right about this?

quote:Aren’t you trying to play a $10 swing in riot? AMC at $40 with the Spider-Man release represents a $15 swing. I’m not a rocket scientist, but $15>$10.

ETA: as, stated…I’m sarcastically making the point that AMCs stock price isn’t going to be moved much based on Spider-Man and movie going season. I don’t know enough about your RIOT play to speak on it other than I strongly suspect the likelihood of that swing play happening is much greater than the MOASS happening with AMC.

You need to look at the percent swing, not the absolute dollar amount swing.
For example, a $15 swing on single share of Tesla is going to be a minuscule return compared to a $15 swing on a share of SLI.
ETA: Though AMC and RIOT do appear to be just about the same price right now.

quote:Sure, but RIOT and AMC are both trading around $25. I was just using round numbers to make the point.

I hope this never goes away

That's why we need to get Sasquatch back in here...to get a sense for the apes and their belief in it.
