Nothing substantial in terms of short interest has changed with AMC since last week... so if you thought AMC was a good play last week then I can't imagine what has happened to change that other than the price going up... Until I see the short interest changing with significance I am sitting back and enjoying the roller coaster.
The problem I’ve always had with the short squeeze Rd. 2 is that the element of surprise is gone. GME was such a unique situation with the float and short interest. This AMC squeeze is relying on one of two things:
1) short hedge funds getting caught off guard by what is/was a slow moving train
2) a hope that there are a significant amount “synthetic” shares despite little proof of their existence
I have a really difficult time believing #1 will happen. As for #2, I don’t see it either, but it’s more plausible than #1. The biggest problem I have with #2 is that every stock blogger and board under the sun has been hypothesizing about it, so once again it requires a belief that short hedges will get caught off guard by something that’s relatively mainstream.
I guess we’ll see soon enough, but my theory is the long hedges will make their money on the way up pushing this narrative, and the shorts have the liquidity necessary to ride it out on the backside.

100% agree that these meme stock companies should capitalize on the moment to improve their companies long term. CEOs hate the idea of pushing their stock price down (CEO incentives around stock price), but the company should reward them for making these big moves that can create long term value for the company in a very short term frame

I’m going to hold on to one share when this is done just so I can keep my free popcorn.
Did they say the exact requirements for the free popcorn? Do I only need one share? Does it get me popcorn every time I go to the movies, or is it only once in a certain time period? What size popcorn do I get? Inquiring minds would like to know

More like: Fomo has caused our stock to be substantially overvalued. Only an idiot would buy at these prices. Don’t be an idiot! But if you are, we have 11.5 million shares you can buy and they come with free popcorn.

That's kinda genius. And I think you get other stuff like private chats with the CEO too. And shareholder only screenings.

Yeah I remember the usual suspects shitting on GME when it would dip 20% saying I told you so and then the next day it would be up 60%
Yeah these swings are going to be violent, but important to note is that GME never closed down once the meteoric rise started. It consolidated early on like AMC has done, but once it started having 50% up days, the train didn’t stop until it stopped.

Well it’s probably a mixed bag. But for every outperforming “idiot”, there are likely several bag holders that are the real idiots.

Where has greygoose been?

I will say this. It’s amazing how much dick measuring has been going on in this thread for the last two weeks. Then today out of nowhere all these random people pop in saying “I told you so”. All for a stock which as we speak is still up $6 from where it started yesterday and almost $30 for the week.

yea good point. I don't think anyone knows where it goes from here but a lot of people will feign confidence that they do

Still up 400%. If I listened to the "told ya so's" I would have made about 5%, and probably lost even more on whatever their stock suggestion was.

We all know if yesterday was the top, he's going to come back after all is said and done and let us know he was taking all sorts of profits on the way up. He already did it earlier in this thread (despite preaching "HODL!!!")
I wonder if the guy who sold yesterday at $70 is still having anxiety over his decision.
