Does the sale of 8.5m shares to Mudrick Capital sway this thing one way or the other?
Does it show legit investment from an institution and increase the value or does Mudrick help out their boys and manipulate down in one way or another?
Genuinely don’t know, asking as a novice.

Mudrick Capital has already sold the 8.5M shares of AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) +20.3% it acquired this morning.
Mudrick sold the shares for a profit after paying $230.5M, Bloomberg reports, citing a person familiar with the matter.
At the same time, Mudrick is telling clients AMC is "massively overvalued," according to Bloomberg.

Well as expected

Look guys I don’t know shite about stocks. But that seems like some frickery.
With all the cloak and dagger shite going on, you can’t help but wonder if there actually is something to it. Stock is still climbing.

I think Mudrick owns some of their bonds. Seems like an underhanded way to pay off debt with everyone involved profiting. Not sure this is legal, but seems like collusion. If the IV wasn't so high I'd buy some puts on AMC.

And yet there is still support. They can say it's overvalued but people are still buying.

People on Stocktwits are trying to get a massive short sell going on MUDS
Posted on 6/1/21 at 1:48 pm to Delacroix22
So does this mean we buy MUDS and screw the short-sellers?!?!?!!?! GIT EM!!!!
Posted on 6/1/21 at 1:50 pm to The Melt
Got some puts on MUDS earlier. I don’t really care about AMC, I only have a few shares, but those scumbags doing this dirty dealing deserve to get shorted into the ground

There definitely seems to be some shady stuff going on, but the price keeps going up.
No idea how this ends, but it’s been an interesting ride so far

The popularity is causing people to continue pouring in with buys. This isn’t shorts covering, it’s momentum buying and out of touch retail buying looking for a second GME. It’s actually impressive. I’m running a trailing stop loss on my few shares. I don’t believe in the stock or a true short squeeze occurring, but nothing wrong making money where it’s clear there’s money to be made still

I don’t believe there are any sane people who think AMC is a $14B company in the intermediate to long term.
Buying AMC at these prices is done with the hopes a hedge fund or two will take it off your hands at $40+ in the next few days/weeks.
The problem is that there are unlikely to be enough shorts out there to buy every retail share, but that narrative doesn’t fly well, so the diamond hands bit will hopefully keep the stock price up enough for another retail shareholder to pick up the bag.
Personally, I applaud the entire effort to separate fools from their money - whether that be hedges or retailers.

I’ll add that I don’t believe in the short squeeze here, just not enough shorts to create true firepower ala GME. But the popularity pouring in with buys is enough for some money to be made

I want to make an AMC bingo card, and "synthetic shares" will basically be the free square

Keep in mind, the entirety of the reported outstanding shares, will be traded by the bell today, ALONE.

Anything above 30 today is a W in my mind
