Earnings drive the intrinsic value of a stock. This idea that it will collapse requires you to ignore that intrinsic value altogether.

You are an imbecile if you do not believe that earnings move stock prices. What do you think is a primary driver of why “money flows into the stock”?

No matter what it is, if you can't stand in front of it and guard it with a gun, you don't own it. You have a claim against it when it is at a bank or brokerage and you are way on down the line getting paid on it if something happens.

Don't blindly trust the crooks on Wall St., keep some physical cash and precious metals.

They don't care about you or your family..

Bro, if shite hits the fan, physical cash and precious metals aren't going to do you a bit of good.

I always enjoy taking this to it's logical conclusion, a conclusion that usually proves the cash and gold idea to be a faulty one.

You lost me.

Precious Metals need buyers just like stocks. It isn't going to be worth shite if the worlds economies have an epic crash like you are claiming. Your dollar bills might be worth more since they are combustible.

I've never once bought a stock because I thought the company "cared about me or my family."

I got a heavy downvote post for staying there was some shotty advice being given in this thread. In my defense, I was three Manhattans deep.

Thanks for taking my place (by far) as the worst poster in the thread.

ETA: I can only imagine you’ve been concocting this narrative for quite some time. You running out of tin foil yet? :sipsManhattan:

I can stand in front of LSU Fightin' Tiger Stadium and guard it with my gun.

Does that mean I own it?

I find a small bit of joy knowing that my reply broke the camel’s back and got you to make the most ridiculous post yet in this thread.

What do YOU think is the primary driver of why money flows OUT of a stock? Think this selloff has to do with earnings reports? You can't have it both ways, imbecile

Might want to research just how much debt as well as central bank distortions are in these "matkets." Once it is vacuumed out to fair value it won't be pretty.

Money doesn’t flow out of a stock.

Yes, the market is falling because many investors believe future corporate earnings, commonly referred to as forward earnings, are going to decline due to a combination of higher interest rates on their corporate debt and higher costs due to tariffs on raw materials (steel & aluminum) and finished goods manufactured overseas.

Hmmmm, that's strange. The bond market is screaming BS to higher interest rates and is calling the Fed's bluff.

Might want to check how gold and silver are confirming this and are breaking out of multi year downtrends.

Are interest rates higher now than they were a year ago? Why, yes, yes they are.

Is it anticipated that the Fed will raise the Fed funds target rate (which many banks’ prime rates are based on) again next week when the FOMC meets again? Why, yes, yes it is.

After that? We don’t know.

The fact that 5 year and 10 year bond rates have declined over the last couple of weeks can be attributed to the anticipation of an economic slowdown and the accompaning corporate cutbacks to their expansion plans.

Both gold and silver are trading lower today than they were this time last year. You might want to check your facts before you challenge someone over facts that are so easily fact checked.
