TDOC
FSLY
TELL
SLI
AUPH
ORGN
SE
ZOM
These are all picks touted on this board, including myself at some point. All turned to duds and losses.
Lesson learned...don't follow anyone's advice on a message board for speculative play, unless you're ok with the risk. More times than not, it will flop. Stick to ETFs.

IDK. It went from $1 to $12. I made 90k to put down on a house. I messed up putting $14k from my roth back in it.

SE is the stock that defines 2020 to 2022 to me. Soooo many people talked about this stock and almost no one could tell you how they made money, and im not just talking about this board, it was getting talked about everywhere. It was supposed to be the Amazon of the east if you listened to some people.
One day, i actually sat down and tried to figure out what the hell this company did. Almost all their revenue was from a single mobile mini game with micro transactions called free fire that was very popular in asia around this time, yet they were trying to move on from this business to become Amazon. The revs from free fire were declining rapidly and they were losing a billion dollars a quarter on other ventures they had no idea what they were doing or any successes to point to but the stock was rolling because "it was going to the moon". I bet 90% of stock holders in US couldn't tell you any of that, just that it was never going to stop and it was on everyone's stock pick lists. Paragraphs of discussion without one single mention of how the company made money.
I will also say, almost every stock on that list was up very significantly after they started being pitched here. Gotta trade it.

Yeah. What a group.
That being said, I think SE and TDOC are intriguing. The rest are probably dead.

People need to stay disciplined.
For the sake of discussion, if you put 5% of your account into a stock and you find yourself with 10-15% of your account in it after a big run up, you basically have two solid decisions:
A) Sell some. You should always evaluate your individual stocks as if you were buying them today. The fact you “only” put in 5% is irrelevant when it’s now 15%. Would you put 15% of your account in it today if you didn’t already own it? If the answer is no, then you take some profit accordingly.
B) Add more money to your account and invest elsewhere. Use contributions to other investments to bring your exposure down from the 15% number.
You can also apply this in reverse when a stock plummets. Your own experience with it should be irrelevant. Would you buy it today at today’s prices? If yes, proceed accordingly.

Would not be surprised to see a reverse stock split in the very near future

That's the issue though when the pumping starts on here that no one states, "for a quick trade". By now though most on this board knows that stocks pumped on here are just a gamble and buy at your own risk type of deal with no real staying power it seems. Nothing more than a quick trip to the casino which usually results in a loss.

This group is beat down when a 12% up day doesn’t get a mention before noon.

I'm about to send my 1.16 shares from the other day packing because there's now two things I don't trust, a fart and an SLI run.
Posted on 1/22/24 at 1:28 pm to Wraytex
Sell it all and buy back at $1
Posted on 1/22/24 at 1:31 pm to StonewallJack
Oh i do believe we're headed there.
Posted on 1/22/24 at 2:54 pm to Wraytex
Honestly right now is probably not a bad time to buy unless you think the company is a complete dud

I just don't know. With Exxon building next door, what they do (rather claim they're going to do) has value. With Mintak at the helm, if there's been a way to slow development, he's found it. Just jettisoned the previously mentioned shares.

I made a lot of $$ on four of these, particularly FSLY, SLI, SE and ZOM. So not everything is doom and gloom around here!

The problem is a lot of people on here didn’t hear about those stocks until they started to boom and bought in too late.
Those who pay attention and knew to buy in while the stocks had potential but still were unknown had opportunities to make bank. Most of the time when you hear of a stock “mooning” and you didn’t own it prior to that, you’ve already missed your opportunity

That's usually the case when people start to pump them on this board. Person pumps them to everyone else after they bought a few weeks earlier. Then the bottom falls out right after they post it to this board. SLI was pumped early on here but many dont buy the hype until it's to late. That's what happened to me on FSLY . I lost my arse on that one.
