If phase 1b and 2 don’t happen where does that leave SLI?

Basically they are going to hit an inflection point after Phase 1A gets underway/done.

Phase 1B will be on a very similar timeline as SW Arkansas project. The SWA project is WAY more lucrative (albeit more capital intensive). It is highly likely they will have to pick one or the other, pursuing both in parallel won't be an option.

I suspect that the economics will greatly favor SWA capital investment vs expanding the Lanxess project; therefore, the Lanxess Phase 1B/2 will be passed over.

When the next capital project opportunity comes around after SWA, it would be Texas vs Lanxess. And yet again, it is looking like TX would be the far more economical choice.

Also, depending on with whom Standard partners (especially if it is an Exxon or Albemarle), Lanx may have a poison pill for the Lanx project altogether.

I just mentioned on the FP page, if one was looking to partner with SLI, wouldn't you pressure them to go after the higher concentration brine first?

Ultimately it would seem that there would be a shift to prioritize development of the east texas smackover region if that is where the highest lithium concentrations are. Obviously unlikely to completely abandon swa etc as they will still be profitable.

As an aside, it no longer seems that having the "tech" is the greatest value. Clearly there are multiple dle techs whether it's sli, Koch, etc that all seem to be effective. If that's the case, the value comes in who has the best brine resources.

If that's a correct presumption, I'm curious on if sli is continuing to acquire brine leases in east texas as they previously were. I assume the cumulative value of our current leases won't be known until there's a PFS for the east texas project.

Secondly, we all know the players in the swa region between Albemarle, now Exxon etc. But do we know who already has established resources in the east texas region?

There really needs to be a short commercial showing the water coming out of the tail brine in a translucent tube, then a quick glossover of the line, and a good shot of the lithium coming out of the process and a final shot of the water being injected back into the ground in another translucent tube. This would show the cleanliness of the operation, the speed, and the environmental friendliness of the process. not to mention combat the stigma of the science project concerns. The fact that they haven't capitalized on promoting the positive aspects of their patents is baffling.

Good idea. I see quite a few stock commercials and showing the promise of SLI during football game broadcasts or political shows would be a good idea if it can be done within legal margins.

It would be that much better if the demo plant was actually in production for all its worth.

They sure do like using the term "de-risk", lately.

FWIW - Thanks to bet84's diligence we know that Standard Lithium has leases for a total of at least 25,152.174 acres in Cass County, Tx. Not sure the values or if they also have leases in other Texas counties.

Link click "Real Estate," select "Search Real Estate Index" then search "Cass County Brine LLC."

Texas House of Reps references "Standard Lithium, the parent company of Cass County Brine..."

My question was how is Standard acquiring so much quality brine but I guess the answer is that the brine leases are dated a year or more ago, before Exxon and Albemarle publicly expressed interest in Arkansas.

From the June 30, 2023 Annual Report disclosures:

"As at June 30, 2023, the Company has entered into lease and option agreements for certain properties in East Texas. The leases are for a 5-year term with extension for a further 10-year period with the first renewal due or expiry in July 2027. The Options are for a 2-year period with the first set to expire in February 2024 if leases are not signed and additional payments are not made to the lessor."

Is the last week (up 30% from Oct 5 lows) actual market reaction to news, just a short squeeze, or a combination?

It’s not from an increase in the lithium spot price and I doubt it’s from either of the two most recent PRs. Looks to me like someone decided it was time to pile in and it’s caused a short squeeze.

It was WAY oversold and definitely a needed correction (plus likely shorts closing positions, although my lending interest hasn't changed at all).

Under $3 is just crazy for this stock.

Up to $3.08 premarket on two 500 trades (the witches say this means gap the stock).

Would be nice if we can get back to $4 while waiting for news.

definitely seems like it’s been the floor ever since I discovered it in the STLHF days. knock on wood but my strategy has always been to buy huge chunks when it’s sub $3. Every time it’s gone below $3 it’s surged back. Was nervous this time with it getting all the way down to 2.25 but had the same V-shape recovery as past times it’s dipped with the 30% increase over the past week.

Got my DCA of all my shares right above $3 now so wish I had bought more. Was hoping I’d get to load up under $2 so ended up not pulling the trigger at all beneath $2.5

Well, with XOM shelling out 60B for Pioneer, I suspect we can remove them from the list of potential buyers. I can't imagine they will continue on a giant spending spree...

Oil majors interested in lithium extraction as mentioned in a Financial Times article 06/24/23.

Schlumberger, Occidental, BP, Shell..

The article said two sources indicated Schlumberger was interested in the Smackover leases purchased by Exxon.

I'm not ruling out Tesla, as they are ramping up their lithium refinery in Texas.

This waiting is not for sissies.

AOGC published Q3 production data. Nothing exciting but I wanted to share this one piece for a group head-scratching

ETNR has also been executing brine leases in Cass County.

Someone mentioned ETNR is a Schlumberger related entity? I see a relationship with Werrus Energy but no info on Schlumberger, so that may not be good info. I believe Werrus Energy is a private equity fund located in Houston.

Only thing I've seen so far is that there's a LinkedIn post from an attorney in Texas discussing brine leases in the area.

Of which this was included:
quote:

The two biggest players to date are Lilac Solutions, backed by Bill Gates and BMW, and Standard Lithium, a Canadian company backed by Koch Industries. Of the two, only Standard Lithium is currently operating in East Texas. Recently, Exxon began operations in Southwest Arkansas and it appears that Schlumberger is beginning to explore in Northeast Texas under the names SLB New Energy; ENTR Operating, LLC; and ENTR, LLC.

Question for experts.

Do you think the market understands that Lanxess is the main blocker for SLI right now?

When (not if) SLI announces that Lanxess is not taking up an equity position on the 1A project, do you expect the market to react favourably or negatively?

Schwab loaned out my recently purchased shares today as well.

I think the market will react negatively to Lanxess not buying in and that will be the last opportunity to buy in sub-$3, but what do I know
