Doesn’t change my estimate for production.
If FEED timeline is 1H ‘23 I’m guessing that means they anticipate late Q1 but don’t want to whiff on another timeline so they kept it vague at 1H. Once that NI 43-101 DFS report is published the quote is on a ticking clock wrt validity. So they have to give the FID within a certain amount of days, I can’t remember what the timeline is but I know it’s no more than 90 days. So I’m gonna say rough estimate of FID by the end of Q2 ‘23. Immediately start the plant buildout and you’re looking at very late ‘24 for production but likely 1H 2025.

Not sure whether this is a tough day to release this news or a good day.
Tough, because the sector is really red and thus suppressing the potential run.
Or good, because the sector is really red but SLI is still green.

thanks for emailing them. Why in the hell did it take an investor email to get this update, though? This is exactly the kind of update that could at least keep interest in this company

This thread was started asking if any news has come out. Two years later here we are still asking

And appears we still will be for the next 2 years…
I hope.

Surely, a pump and dump would try harder, eh?
Maybe?
Maybe?

My biggest fear with this company is becoming that a bunch of engineers are just obsessed with academia and research rather than making a business out of that research.
Today is good news, let’s just see what comes of it.

Fortunately Koch's industries don't suffer the academic syndrome.

I heard Koch was pushing to sell the product from the pilot plant.

If true, that'd be welcome...especially if they were to sell it to a big name in the industry.

That would put some solid numbers on the board and be the ultimate proof of concept #3.

Press Release
Press Release
quote:
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 01, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Standard Lithium Ltd. (“Standard Lithium” or the “Company”) (TSXV: SLI) (NYSE American: SLI) (FRA: S5L), an innovative pre-commercial lithium company, announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) has issued Notices of Allowance for Standard Lithium’s first two U.S. patent applications; serial no.16/410,523 and serial no. 16/224/463, both titled “Process for Recovering Lithium from Brines”, a novel and proprietary technique for continuous Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) from lithium brines.
These U.S. patent applications are two of the three pending U.S. patent applications for elements of Standard Lithium’s innovative DLE processes. A Notice of Allowance is issued by the USPTO after examination of a patent application and a determination that a patent should be granted from the application. Standard Lithium anticipates the issue of the formal registration of these patents in the coming months.
Dr. Andy Robinson, President of Standard Lithium commented, “The successful Notice of Allowance from the USPTO provides continued affirmation of the Company’s lithium extraction technology and allows Standard Lithium to continue advancing its first commercial lithium extraction project with even greater certainty of intellectual property rights.”

Patents approved. That should be a big one. Let’s see how the markets take this today

Need Elon to use his new platform to push this.

Patents offer the potential of fat licensing agreements to other producers around the world.
I've done work for a several patent attorneys over the years. Many get lost in the weeds, but one is the clear champion. He was the most fun to work with too.
I had flagged SGML with a single share purchase a few months ago at $9. It's just a hair under $35 today. Any kind of real production would set SLI off.
