100s of thousands? Man, it’s going to take millions and millions even if unfounded. Especially if unfounded because the company is going to want to defend it aggressively. These things usually shake out in a couple hundred million settlement quickly (8-12 months) in instances like this. Luckin just settled theirs for $175 million. Nikola settled their SEC claim for $125 million. That’s about what you can expect in this if the data is actually flawed and misrepresented.

Looks like this is my go to thread today instead of the Rittenhouse trial.

I’d love to liquidate and get some more shares, but my whole portfolio is a dumpster fire today. Solana, SLI and Ethereum are getting smoke. Might be best for me to get back in the Qs and mutuals and stop pretending like I have any clue WTF is going on with things right now.

Nobody should feel bad about dumping stock

I dumped, too much to loose. But did put a stop limit buy around $10.30. if/when it is disproved, I can get back in with a large up side.

if it is not disproved, the stock goes to zero.

Is this a good strategy? I'm not that stock savvy.

Not sure if it’s a good stock strategy but it sounds reasonable

I read some hopium that says that Sli makes lithium chloride not carbonate and that the shorts are giving figures of lithium carbonate production

This feels like a hit job. We’ve been following this company nearly two years and everything has been done to the T, except for being a little late on news at times.

Stronger institutional interest and then a piece like this? Yeah, I have watched Billions on Showtime recently.

It’s both.

SLI makes lithium chloride from the brine (LiSTR unit).

They then make lithium carbonate from the lithium chloride (Sift unit).

The product from the Lanxess site would be lithium carbonate. That is what would be sold. However, the value is mostly from the lithium chloride recovery. They don’t really need the sift unit, it’s just a nice downstream piece to have. Other people are already converting LiCl to carbonate. Nobody is producing high quality LiCl from brine outside of evap ponds. Concentrated lithium chloride is the value, and what they are targeting when they say “90% lithium recovery”

Initial production is ALL lithium chloride.

SLI needs to do a strong reply to this shorting attack. Otherwise, we'll stay in free fall because many people will assume no defense means there is some serious damaging truth to the attack.
