Hmmm. I wonder how long the process takes? Is is green?

Isnt Standard Lithiums method even more effective, and greener, and probably quicker.
If anything it is Musk making a committment to lithium.

Yes. Still from ore. SLI will be the cheapest, fastest and only green extraction operation. But Tesla needs more than they can produce for not just EV's, but energy storage. Estimated demand is projected to be in excess of 1 million tons/yr by 2027. Anxious to see what's going on with the brine sites Lanxess acquired in Europe.
I think SLI's patent gets approval and announced soon. I think this release by Musk is a prologue to that to get attention on SLI. We'll soon know.

Was about to say, it uses salt to extract from ore. Still requires strip mining.

Lanxness didn’t purchase brine sites for shits and giggle. They are either going to buy SLI out or they will be building there very soon.
Or they got stupid and try to steal SLI tech.

I wonder if this will be similar to oil companies purchasing leases and having to do exploratory wells or if they are able to test for lithium content beforehand.

Another interesting tidbit in any discussion related to Tesla Is that when Robert Mintak Was still at pure energy in 2015 - He signed a supply deal for Nevada produced lithium to be sold to Tesla.
I still haven’t figured out the backstory with his new from pure energy to Standard lithium but it is intriguing nonetheless

I think the test to determine lithium content is infinitely cheaper than finding oil that can be tapped and pumped.
Not too mention, the process is significantly cheaper than conventional lithium mining. So a brine content % doesn’t need to be as high to still be quite a profitable well site

I much more bearish than Smack on next few months.
But as a tech company, 10B market cap would be in line with other Tech companies
to humor ourselves I calculated a 10B market cap for SLI = $74.63 per share.
I’d be one of dozens of SLI millionaires in this thread at that price. Already committed to not taking any short-term capital gains so I got time!

well this is scary. E*Trade currently shows my SLI value at a very large negative number.
I know, the uplisting but it’s still scary as frick to see.
My portfolio is at -87% currently. Damn, I suck.

Maybe we’re all pawns in some elaborate scheme by a notorious conman SmackoverHawg and now we’re all broke and on the run with felony fraud charges.

Nah Smackover is going to be on my MT Mt Rushmore once this is all said and done

Still good on fidelity

Yes. strange he left pure energy. They were already working the DLE R and D. Maybe he had the goods and wanted a bigger piece of pie.
The Schlumberger partnership with Pure Energy is interesting as well. Their process much slower than SLI but competition is surely coming.
SLI needs to have its patent house in order I woukd think

Why would Musk be trying to get attention on SLI unless
1. He plans to buy the company
2. Owns significant shares of the company
3. Plans to bury his competition by buying up every ounce of cheap lithium and destroying traditional mining buy unveiling the dirty side the greenies dont want to talk about.

My E*Trade shows me to be a broke-dicck as well. I'm not worried at all, but yes, it does feel a bit disconcerting. Lol.
