I just locked in a 30 @ 3.25% (down from 4.5%)

Wish we could have hit on something lower, but we're closing on a 3.375% 30 year on May 8th. Went ahead and locked it in mid-March. Thought about buying down a .25 point, but the payback wasn't there. Was at 4% and should save about $500/month with the new rate.

Frankly, dealing with Regions for the re-fi was easy, and that is what i was looking for. They have a dedicated team just for the physicians loans, they knew us, and i already knew their process.
and i don't do any active banking with them. all my stuff is with Chase.

could a better deal have existed? probably.
but i did little to no work, didn't come out of pocket, and improved my loan.
so i didn't win the Money Board loan war, but still better off than before.

Was just curious that's all. I've heard regions can be rather high in their rates for doctor's loans, but if they were competitive on the first finance, then who knows. I've never looked into them to finance a loan.

FWIW, I had the best rates from Synovus and SunTrust. My previous physician loan I had through SunTrust as well, which had competitive rates, but this go around Synovus was by far the best.

In any case, yes regardless of lender, dealing with a loan officer who actually has experience with physician loans makes the process smooth.

I locked in at 2.625% with no upfront points on a 15 year fixed yesterday with Assurance.

It may well keep dropping, but I was comfortable with that rate and ready to roll.

Then he must manage your office

Came down to GMFS and Assurance on best rate. Went back and forth on who offered the lower rate.

Assurance got to my number first. David has been great to work with so far.

How much were your closing costs? I’ve heard $12,000+ on people using lending tree

Do people think rates have stablized and will stay where they are or will they drop a little more?
