How long can I expect to wait for an answer from Chase on the CSR application? I applied last night and they made an inquiry in to my credit this morning at 6AM.
You can always call 888-338-2586 and enter your social security number to check your status through the automated system.

I applied for CSR this morning and the site was advertising 100K bonus that would be ending soon. Did not notice on bottom it said to apply by 1/11/2017. Just saw the card is in my account but do not know if it will be 100K or 50K bonus. Any thoughts.

Thepointsguy said you had to apply by 1/11... watched a 30 min video last night that convinced me to pull the trigger.

Did screen shot the 100k? If so they should honor it

Did you get an email from Alaska about 10,000 bonus miles by activating your Virgin account with Alaska? Just did it today so hopefully that works no problem.

I didn't get any emails from them. Just got the 10K miles a couple weeks ago. I've had both VX and AS accounts for a while now.

Same here but didn't know about it and got an email so I did it. How long it took for the miles to deposit?

Tbh I have no idea how long. I don't suspect it being too long though

I'm looking at booking a round trip to Hong Kong from either LA or Dallas. I work in both LA and Dallas weekly so I am pretty flexible on departing out of DFW or LAX. Looking at going February 14th - 20th.
I've got 75k thankyou points (citi prestige). At the moment, I think my best bet is buying an American Airlines flight for 64,453 thank you points on the travel portal but wanted to check with the gurus before booking.
Is there a better way to utilize my thankyou points then just booking an AA flight through the thankyou portal? I see thankyou points transfer to Cathaway Pacific but wasn't sure how much I would have to pay out of pocket for taxes etc if I transferred the points.
TIA

Yes, that may be the best way to go. You are 25K TYP short of doing the RT in AA biz DFW-HKG.
You could use 50K TYP to do one way in AA biz (62.5K in F) through Etihad, and buy an economy ticket back with the remaining points.
Same ticket in Economy is 32.5K one way on AA flights. Also remember - booking through portal will yield EQMs and RDMs. So factor that in.

Thanks Amerikop.
I'm also thinking about going to Europe (specifically Italy or Croatia) instead if I don't pull the trigger on Hong Kong. Same dates etc.. any good advice on using my 75k thank you points to get to Europe?

AK, what's the best way to book RT to Europe w/ Delta points?

Also, 6 months later I got 40,000 UR points from referrals

Wow that's awesome. Like a tax refund.
With Delta, really the best way is to wait for one of their award sales to Europe. They don't publish an award chart so technically there is no answer to what the best way of using DL points is at this point.

Again, the "best" way is to wait for Flying Blue promo awards to Europe. This way you can get a RT to Europe for 25K Flying Blue (transferred from TYP). Just google "Flying blue promo awards" to see what is listed for the month. This is updated on the 1st of every month. Even where there are no promo awards going on, 50K RT to Europe isn't terrible. Look for DL award space to get the lowest fuel surcharges.
Once more, it is the same price as HKG to go to Europe on AA marked flights through Etihad. Problem is, AA does not go too far east. So you'll be limited there.

To anyone who needs to meet a spending requirement:
1)Open a PredictIt account
2) fund using your credit card
3) max out ($850) on Trump mentioning China during inauguration. 50 cents/share.
4) put $150 on Trump mentioning hacking...around 20 cents/share right now. Receive $1/share if he mentions it.

Interested in everyone's opinion on this:
Have 4 chase cards (Freedom, IHG, Marriott, SW Visa). SW was opened 5 years ago, the rest anywhere from 3-4 years ago with the most recent being IHG in summer of 2014.
I applied in-branch for CSR to get the 100K bonus. I was declined and then talked to some one on the phone in the branch from Chase who said my credit limit with Chase (5 total cards if I got the CSR) would be too high. I asked if I could call reconsideration line, and they said that's who you are talking to.
Anyone ever had this happen? Should I try and call again? I am by no means an OT baller, but I'm not poor. First time I've ever been declined a card. My FICO score, from the free thing on Discover, is in the high 700s

Ask them to move credit from one card to the new CSR

I've read that Chase extends credit (combined between all cards) up to around 50% of your stated gross income. You should be able to call Chase and ask them to lower the credit limits on your current cards and then call recon for the CSR.
Although, I am surprised they did not present you with that option when you spoke with them. I would give it a shot. It's worth it.

CSR is a Visa infinite which requires a min limit of $10k. The Marriot is a Visa signature which requires a min of $5k.
Call them back and see if they can move some credit around, but remember your limit for Marriot has to be a min 5k and the CSR has to be at least 10k
