I have been credited for Uber and parkino lots downtown. Won't spend it all that way, but may help

So I'm thinking about going for the 100k bonus and getting a Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Card... We'd like to either go to Cali or DisneyWorld over spring break and flights are insane, figured this would offset.... any experience with this card ? ( I read back a few pages and didn't see this one mentioned specifically)

I was having a lazy morning today and decided to call and bug Chase about the metal replacement cards. The delightful woman on the phone said that Chase just received the first shipment of metal replacement cards and that everyone should receive theirs sometime between now and the end of the month of November. Further, everyone will get an email letting them know that their card has been shipped so they can keep an eye out for it (which anyone should be familiar with if they've needed a replacement card for any reason in the past).

Just figured I would pass that information along

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble but the CSR metal card feels lighter than the CSP. Almost like heavier plastic tbh.

Disappointing, but considering my current CSR feels slightly more flimsy than my old Freedom, I look forward to the upgrade, nonetheless

I have a metal card, but could care less if it was cardboard. I just got my 100,000 points and have used $120 of my $300 travel credit for this year.

Hey Gene, are there any travel deals for chase ultimate rewards? Like is there anywhere to maximize the points and/or get great deals? I have a ton of points and Im looking at these tickets overseas and first class seats are over 230k each to paris for a trip we're going on in early december. Are there ways to maximize points to get more or ways to search for when a first class ticket to x is cheapest. I don't wanna sound like a snob about first class only, but my name is dabigfella, im 6'7, not overweight im barely over 200 lbs but coach is not friendly with my legs

It seems like you are trying to pay with points if they are charging you 230k. You need to look at award travel and need to be okay with a stop unless you are on the east coast.

AK is who to talk to but if you are a little flexible, you can fly United round trip in business for ~115k pts/each

Amerikop is the king of overseas 1st class reward redemptions help. You might as well just lit up a bat signal for him

Generally speaking international award trips make more sense to book through airline partners. That said, if you care about airline status booking through Chase can earn that

If you book through the Chase Sapphire Reserve Portal, you get 1.5x value so 100,000 points = $1,500. So at a very minimum, you should value your points for travel at 1.5cents/point

Additionally, some hotels will offer discounted pricing to begin with through the Chase portal. I booked the Fairmont Hotel in DC for $175 ($115 in points) when their website & priceline had it $225+

I am 5'11 and after flying 1st class to Asia/Europe for work, I complain flying 1st class domestic for not having lie flats

For real though, you have the points and can get a solid deal. Just own it and live the life man

See above for some more direct answers but here is something to think about

Serious question because it differs person to person

-Are you trying to get a solid deal and book in 2-3 minutes?
-Are you trying to get the best deal possible which may take a little longer to book/unusual connections?

Finding a 1st/Busi saver availability seat at a partner is a reasonable price and should be ~120-150k RT per person

I would think you could swing it for 100k but may land in London/Frankfurt. That is an incredibly easy ICE/Eurostar train over but may not be something you want to deal with

Business class:

SkyTeam

80K RT on SkyTeam awards (KLM/Air France/Delta) booked through Korean
Flying Blue Promo awards can you get RT on AF/KLM for as little as 62.5K RT
Otherwise it is 125K RT on AF/KLM/DL booked through Flying Blue

No real access to First Class here w/o paying stupid points.

The only reason to book through FB instead of Korean is that Korean will not allow to book on multiple partners. But IIRC you are based in Houston, so you have access to direct IAH-CDG/AMS flights on AF/KLM.

Star Alliance

Business:

160K RT through UA (no YQ)

First:

220K RT through UA (no YQ)

OneWorld

No good options here.

Notes:

If you don't mind a few stops, then you can fly JFK-FRA on Singapore Suites for as little as 135K RT.

Your only non-stop options would be IAH-CDG on AF and IAH-CDG on UA.

Again - if you don't mind a couple stops you can fly LH First to Munich/Frankfurt and go on from there.

Just remember - LH F and SQ F are probably 2 of the best F products out there. I would not even mind flying SQ J honestly since that is a top product as well.

Thanks for the reply, no it doesnt have to be early december its just we're free for an entire week then but no it doesnt have to be then at all. I just was looking on the ultimate rewards portal and most are 230k+ points for business class seats. I'd prefer to go nonstop ideally, im not really looking for connecting flights and stops. So I guess the real question is, are there any deals on nonstop US to europe flights haha and how do I find those?

Oh my bad: LH = Lufthansa, SQ = Singapore Airlines, F = First, J = Business

If non stop is top priority, I would stick with Business class tbh. Neither AF nor UA have anything special in F. In fact, UA's new business class (the "polaris") will be very nice. Just need to make sure that is the product you are getting on your particular flight.

Also Amerikop those singapore suites, those look incredible, what is the absolute top level seats that fly out of houston or miami, those are the 2 places I fly out of most. Also where do you find out information like that? I saw one of the points guys vids where he flew suites class and it was unbelievable. What airlines offer similar products and where can one find stuff like that out? Thanks

CSR points are valued at 1.5 cents. CSR points transfer to airlines on a 1:1 ration (usually). The key to using them is to find a flight that is priced vastly different than the airline value for a straight mileage purchase.

Example. I purchased a 1 way 1st class seat for $250 with CSR points (16,666 points = 250/.015) that the airlines were charging 45,000 miles. I "saved" 28K points over what the airlines had valued the flight.

You can also look for value on the inverse. A high priced flight that requires fewer miles that it should. It just adds the extra step for transferring. Danger with this is the transfer isn't instantaneous.

Amerikop I went to next july around my birthday and it seems JFK to frankfurt in suites class is $7500, when you say 135k points roundtrip, what days are you talking about or how are you finding this stuff?

Etihad Apartments, Etihad F, Singapore Suites, Emirates F, Lufthansa F, Cathay Pacific F - in that order are some of the absolute best cabins in the sky.

Etihad Apartments is out of reach for most as it is near impossible to get on points and otherwise costs over $30,000 one way. But they do have a First Class cabin as well which is probably the 2nd best to apartments.

Out of Miami, imo, my preferred choice is AA 77W business. Their F is not that much nicer and J is VERY nice.

Out of Houston, your best option is Singapore Airlines IAH-MAN-SIN on 777. They don't have suites (only A380) does but 777 is pretty good. Again, I would stick with Business here.

Basically, unless you are flying the F products I mentioned at the very top, you are better off sticking with Business class. And if you do want to fly those, you would have to position yourself somewhere else aka have a stop out of one of the big hubs (JFK, ORD, LAX etc)
