Amerikop I went to next july around my birthday and it seems JFK to frankfurt in suites class is $7500, when you say 135k points roundtrip, what days are you talking about or how are you finding this stuff?
Its usually never a good idea to book premium cabins at the 1.5c rate. It is best to transfer to airline partners for those redemptions which follow the particular airlines award chart. The figures I'm talking about are fixed value redemptions for those particular routes.

Ok so you're saying if i want the singapore suites, i should set up a krisflyer account and send the points there? I really do have a ton of points and would love to try something like that out. I dont mind flying out of my way to new york to try it out
Posted on 10/27/16 at 3:55 pm to dabigfella
Absolutely should do if you have a ton of points. Maybe even continue on to Singapore from Frankfurt all the way to Singapore. 2 showers better than 1
ETA: And yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Once you have your mind set on a particular redemption and dates, I can help you out with how to go about booking it. Just keep in mind - you need to plan very far in ahead (sometimes 330 days in advance) to be able to book. Other times you need to wait until a week out to book (ex. Lufthansa)
Oh and didn't you just get Chase? Just want to make sure what kind of points you have a ton of.

May make sense to fly SQ one way then fly Lufthansa on the way back. LH F class back. LH I guess picks you up and lets you walk up on the tarmac etc

Go to the Hyatt Maldives. That supposedly is unreal

It is about finding mileage charts for airlines and how to book through partners. Once you figure out the basics of the system it is like riding a bike.

American Airlines points are hard to come by.
Posted on 10/28/16 at 12:17 pm to GenesChin
damnit gene, what card do I need now to get american airlines points?
Posted on 10/28/16 at 12:31 pm to dabigfella
No need for AA miles unless you are trying to get into this full-on. I can help you book probably help you book something for next year (~330 days out).
Thing with Etihad is - you need AmEx MR or Citi TYP to transfer. And apartments is impossible because it is hard to come by 2.2M miles.
Since you have a ton of chase points, Singapore and Lufthansa are the best way to go.

Citi has the cards with AA miles. Barclay used to have them but the only ones of those that remain are grandfathered.
You can also get a British Air card from Chase and BA Avios can be used on American. Additionally, you can transfer your American Express UR points to British Air. This can be particularly useful as a couple of times a year Amex offers a bonus on these transfers.

Thanks man, I used to have a ton of amex points but I would use them to just pay down the bill every month, I never really used the points for traveling, I dont know if that was smart or stupid but I dont have an amex anymore. I guess its a no go on etihad then.

Question. I have had 6 credit card applications since October 2014. Two of those applications were in October, 2014. When do those roll off per the 5/24 rule? Is it on the date the application was approved?
