Chase Ink
As good or better than the Sapphire. 60k ultimate reward bonus after 5k spend. So, if you have a large purchase coming up then it would be a good time to get it.
The thing about ultimate rewards is you can transfer to most of the airlines/hotels. They are the best points to stockpile.
Hyatt is great too, 2 free nights anywhere, after only 1k spend. So save that for a normal spending cycle IMO.

How do I get this without a business? I heard it's getting harder and harder to do so. I also don't feel like taking a credit hit if I get declined for just trying.

How many UR points = a mile on United? It's got to be greater than 1 point per mile right?
Posted on 6/25/16 at 9:39 pm to TigerDeBaiter
Does Hyatt count toward chase's 5/24 rule?
Posted on 6/25/16 at 10:08 pm to Old Sarge
No. It's 1 to 1 and that's a good transfer rate.

Unfortunately no. Always avoided them (Dave Ramsay and all)
Sapphire seems like a great place to start... Like others have said, not sure if we'll both be able to get approved.
I've been looking them all over on Bankrate.com but there's so many options it can make your head spin!

Dave Ramsey is a moron on that topic and many others...
He may give decent advice to those who cannot handle their finances, but that is about the only type he benefits.

Dave Ramsey is great for people like my wife who doesn't realize "No interest" doesn't mean "free"
Luckily has me and I do almost all of it on my own and force her to be responsible

Sprint has s 25k American Airlines points offer if you sign up with them. That could be extremely enticing if you have 4-5 lines of service and are able to her 100,000 points. Plus it's 5k points each year you have the service. I'm on a different carrier but this is a great incentive since I've been saving AA points. They do a good job of international flights. For instance going to Denmark can be a 45k round trip.

I'm bumping this since it got lost in the previous page and I would like to make this decision in the next few days.
~3-4k purchase coming up so want a good signup bonus, have CSP, want to get Freedom and Unlimited soon to add UR on daily spending. Want to apply for 2-3 cards at same time. Was initially thinking hotel (Hyatt, Marriott, IHG) until this post.
You mentioned Ink and I would love the signup bonus but I don't have a business and I've read that it's getting increasingly difficult to get it without a business. Worth it to give a shot even if likely decline? Or not even try?

Sorry, didn't mean to reply to you. Just realizing my wife could use some Dave Ramsey love sometimes

You should definitely try to go for the Ink. App link: LINK
60K points after spending $5K. 5x on office supply stores where you can buy GCs for other vendors (amazon, shell etc); great card for earning UR.
Filling out a business app:
1) Use your SSN in place of EIN
2) I generally say I am in the retail business because I have sold stuff on amazon/ebay/cl before.
3) Say your revenue is $100-$500
4) Sole Proprietor
5) Been in business for how many ever years you sold your first thing on any of those places
6) 1 employee
It's one of those things where: I am not telling you to lie but..
With the 5/24 rule in place, the Freedom has lost its spot as one of the cards to get. After you get the ink or get denied for it, go for:
1) SW Plus
2) SW Premier
Both these cards are personal cards and will get you 104K SW points after you've met minimum spends. You will only be short 6K points of the Companion pass (which means BOGO tickets anytime you fly SW. Pay with $$ or points).
Go for the Hyatt later because the 5/25 rule does not apply here. After the 3 apps above, if you still want to go for more, come and ask again.
Don't apply for any other cards until Ink app has been put to bed, either way.
Best to use someone's link on here when applying for cards rather than corp. like bankrate.

Hard to get approved for Sapphire without any history. In your scenario I would recommend starting slow with Chase Freedom or Discover It.
This hobby is completely opposite to what Dave Ramsey might have said. If you're going the Dave Ramsey way (which makes 0 sense to me tbh), then this is not for you.

No. Hyatt and IHG both are excluded from 5/24.
Cheers.

Ended up booking the Hyatt Zilara Amerkikop. Found it on a travel site for $290/night and seems like a great recommendation thanks!
Do you know if I cancel SW after signing bonus I kepe the points? I used your Ink refer link and I'll get you points if I can make that swap

As long as your points have posted on your SW account, they are yours to keep.
I'm jealous of you and your Zilara weekend. It looks amazing! What dates are you going?

July 27 - 31. Going to be a scorcher but unfortunately it is our only free weekend until December
In December I'm thinking either Punta Cana or San Juan + NYC trip #SWPoints

I think Amerikop pretty much covered it, but in short, it's not required to have a business. You can be "looking to start one"

No, it's 1/1
The value is in the flexibility. Using miles vs the chase portal really pays off with when either booking business class and/ or smaller airports when prices are typically higher.

Went through Kayak and they linked to LMT. Going through LMT didn't get that deal for some reason
