That is why I talked a bit about the "manufacturing points" :)
Is there any way to load VGCS now? I thought Bluebird/Serve were effectively shut down

You jumped the gun on calling them. Should have waited until denied then called.

50k is back for United?
It seems all I could find the other day was 30k. I applied and it is pending still. Never happened before. I haven't opened 5 or more in 2 years either.

70K is on too actually. Targeted. For a change I was targeted for this offer but can't get it due to 5/24

I just don't get why I'm "under review" still. I have excellent credit, but perhaps too much open available credit? A lot of my CC lines have $20-30k limits. I don't ever carry a balance, so I would think it's somewhat irrelevant.
I almost wish you could put on the application if you like a maximum credit limit or something. What they through around these days is just insane.

Well they just told me that the won't waive the AF unless the account was set up before the active duty orders began. I don't think that's what they are supposed to be doing but whatever. No sure which is more worth it now then.
What card is this and what is the deal with waiving the AF for active duty? I just finally got a ship date.

That is why. You should call and reduce all your credit lines across cards to the minimum that you need. If you get denied, call chase and tell them you are open to moving some credit line around to open the new card. They will do it.

WHOA. That doesn't seem like a good idea for his credit score, under-utilization of credit lines is not necessarily a bad thing.....
Maybe I am wrong?

Some card issuers, specifically Chase, have a certain amount of aggregate credit they are comfortable giving individual applicants. They will decline an app if someone passes that threshold.
An applicant can reduce CL on a current card and apply for a card with an increased chance of getting auto approved. If after a denial, they can call and have CL reallocated to new card. The applicant would still have roughly the same amount of credit limit if they choose to.

That makes sense....sounds like their solution for card "churning"

Your credit utilization portion of your credit score is based off of a percentage of credit used, not the raw difference between credit used and credit limit. For example, having a $5 balance on 5 different cards of $5000 CL is the same as $1 balance on 5 different cards of $1000 CL

Is there any way to load visa reloads into bluebird or something similar anymore or is that over?
Posted on 6/1/16 at 1:49 pm to 19thHole
Utilization only makes up for 5% of your score anyway. A small drop in aggregate CL will barely make a difference to utilization. This is also a complete non-factor about if you routinely pay off your entire balance before statement close date, in which case your utilization will be 0 regardless. The only "solution to churning" is being responsible with your credit and having an understanding of how it works.

I was hoping to do a Chase Ink and follow up with a UA
My dad added me as an authorized user and that counts towards 5/24

I got a Delta offer in the mail for 60,000 points + 10,000MQMs if I sign up for the Platinum card. I don't fly very often, but will probably take a few vacations in 2017. Is that 60k offer a good one? $195 annual fee

WHAT is MQM???
Medallion Qualified Miles. They restrict earning those to actual Delta purchases/flights
Translation, you can't buy a Diamond medallion status with your credit card. The value would be insane
