Keep: Freedom. In Q4 they have 5% cash back (upto $1,500) on Amazon.com and some other online stores. Buy $1,500 worth of Amazon GCs then and use them throughout the year to maximize. You are basically prepaying into your account. Just pay $1,500 and the credit appears on your amazon account. Done.
I am not saying, I am asking. Don't the shipping and handling fees, negate the benefits of the $75 you gain from the $1500 in gift cards?

1. you can get gift cards as digital objects so no shipping
2. if you're spending $1500 a year at Amazon, I hope you have prime
2. if you're spending $1500 a year at Amazon, I hope you have prime

From your posts it sounds like you occasionally carry balances when you use your cards. Rule #1 of airline rewards is no carrying balances. Period.
The rewards cards rarely have the lower interest rates. If you are carrying balances, you need to focus on the lowest apr's possible not the points. Buying $1500 in Amazon gift cards for $75 cash back and then paying interest on the purchase would be a terrible financial move for example.
Sorry if I misinterpreted or read into your posts.

Freedom Unlimited is the one for you. 1.5X UR on all purchases.
Agree if you want points. If not get a cash back card like Citi double cash for 2%. Also if you have the Costco Amex, you will automatically receive a Citi Costco card. It gets 4% on gas, 3% on restaurants, 2% on Costco and 1% anywhere else.
Pro tip: the chase freedom (not unlimited version) has wholesale clubs included in the Q2 5x bonus. Costco stores won't switch to visa until June 20th, but you could buy Costco cash cards if you haven't used the $1500 limit for Q2 after they switch. I've also heard you can buy Costco cash cards on Costco.com using whatever credit card but I've never had a reason to try it. I believe this is the first time the freedom has had wholesale clubs included and I think they were trying to poke citi in the eye on its Costco roll out but Costco and citi ended up moving the switchover date from April 1 to June 20.
I always though it was odd for citi to win the Costco account when other banks' visas would be accepted.

I think I follow you here. So they run promos for 50k points when you sign up? No strings attached?
Yes, they periodically offer the 50K promotions. However, it depends on what you mean by no strings attached. Chase has a 5/24 rule now so they typically won't approve an app if you've opened 5 or more cards in the last 24 months. Also, it wouldn't be a good practice to close the SW cards immediately after getting the miles...wait closer to the annual fee date.

If someone is interested in savings from CC rewards, I am shocked if they wouldn't have Amazon prime. My subscribe and save pet food alone saves me $125/yr despite paying on $50 for a sub

Citi does Citi things. Did you hear about them possibly discontinuing the Premier? I think the Costco card may be a reason why. I think they are competing products. And places where Premier edges the Costco card (travel), the Prestige catches on.
I think the Citi DC shout is a good one too. No questions 2% cb. If you have absolutely no use for points, or even if you will use points for travel expenses credit @ 1.25c, the DC will still have the edge. Only thing you miss out on is $150 (or $187.5 for travel) in the first year.

Damn shame about the first class awards on Emirates using Alaska miles, but kind of surprised it took them so long to tweak it. Alaska miles are easy to obtain and they've been getting abused for years now to book Emirates first.

Nice! When? Route?
Also, is it just me or Emirates Business has gone up too. 82.5K instead of 70k?

That's still my favorite first class redemption I've done, but with the devaluation, I'd probably just go business. That's a very nice business seat.

DFW-DXB-KUL all on the A380 in November.

Do you have the Prestige? 1.6c on any AA flights that count as Revenue tickets is hard to beat. If not: Singapore or Flying Blue

Definitely on my list. But top of my list currently is Singapore. I'm even ok with paying the YQ on this redemption which is a rare occurrence

True. I did do the spend 5K get 2K bonus last Q though. Only because they I only had to spend 2K more to meet that threshold after earning for CP and meeting min spend. So basically got 2x points on the last 2K.
Got the Hyatt spend 4K and get 4K bonus yesterday though. Think I'm going to do that one.

That's ridiculous. Anyone know if there's an "easiest" Airline out there now to obtain a first class seat on with cc spend? (Regardless of destination)

135K JAL for RT JFK-DXB. 100K to MXP but I'd spend the 35K to continue on to DXB. No fuel
OR you could do 40K RT in economy and shower at home

The worst possible outcome. Anbang has dropped out and Marriott buying Starwood. At a higher price.
