They won't. One has nothing to do with the other.

Off topic question, but related to CCs.
So my CSP number got compromised and the card was used three times this morning (Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com, and Apple.com) Chase alerted me and blocked the first two, but the third went through. They have since reversed the charge.
The question is, will Chase reach out to Apple and let them know not to ship whatever the fricking thieves bought? I don't know how that works. If not, I want to call apple and make sure it doesn't ship. frick the pieces of shite.

I'm going with the "use serve as a defacto savings" so that I can extend its use for a while.

Much appreciated. Last couple questions -- how do you book hotels using your united points on their site? I don't see the option. And do I get roughly the same bang for my points booking a hotel?

Depending on the amount 2 things will likely happen:
1) If the amount is not consequential, credit card companies will just give you the credit and not worry about it. It would be more expensive for them to pay labor/manpower etc tracking down small amounts
2) If it is a larger amount, credit card company will deny payment to the vendor. At this point the vendor has two options: If it is inconsequential to the vendor (see above), they will forget about it. If it is not, vendor will provide the credit card company with all the details of the purchase. Time, Signature etc, Txn number, the works. The credit card company will see who's signature it was to verify it wasn't you. If it isn't the vendor's fault in any way, the vendor will get paid. If it is, vendor won't get paid, and then it is up to the vendor to track down the product, contact police for theft etc.
If credit card company finds out you are lying, then the credit will be reversed.
If the vendor gets paid, and you get paid back, the credit card company will just eat the loss. This is the most likely outcome. If the amount is significant enough for the CC company to file theft, they can do that as well. Although, it is almost never that big for them.
ETA: When I say "CC company", I actually mean VISA/MC/AmEx/DC. Not the issuing bank. Visa is the one that gives all the benefits such as fraud protection, purchase protection etcc.
Take solace in the fact that petty criminals are never going to get too far. Success will to greed which will lead to them being eventually facing the consequences. Greedy criminals are easier to catch.
Btw - this thief sounds incredibly stupid. He shopped online and gave a shipping address? You know how easy that would be to track down even if its not his own?
If you were to call the companies and tell them it wasn't you, you will be potentially saving walmart, bestbuy and apple some pain and money. But do it before the items are shipped. You are going to get your money back anyhow.
TL;DR: You get your money back, vendor gets paid, thief gets the item, credit card company eats the loss.

After Chase alerted me, I called and they asked if I was shopping online today..
Chase declined the charges at Walmart and Bestbuy and already said they are reversing the charge at Apple.com, but I'm just curious if they let Apple know this, so that they don't ship whatever the fricker bought. If they don't I'm tempted to call apple so they don't ship it. I don't want the thieves getting anything.

What's the best credit card to get 2% (or greater) cash back rewards for fast food, dining, etc.
I looked at the TD Bank Cash card but Louisiana is not in their footprint.

Honestly, if you don't care about signup bonus features, just get a card with no annual fee like Amex Blue (3% groceries, 2% gas) or the Chase Freedom (1% with 5% rotating categories).

When you close CitiGold? What fees are you talking about?
Some blogs made it sound inevitable that Citi will charge another $30 for Gold after you close, but you'd have $0 on there and get overdraft fee as well, so therefore to go Basic($10) then close the account to avoid this.
Not sure if it's a real problem or not. Just what I read.

frick that. Send an email that you're closing the account as well as call and if they charge you anything they can kiss your arse. I just deposited another $30 in my account since I probably won't get the points until the end of this month or early April so I don't want to get overdraft. As soon as I do I will be canceling the account before I pay $30 again. $60 is ok, but that's a total of 4 months waiting for these points.

Anyone seen a Ink sign-up with the annual fee waived for the first year? With the 60k bonus of course.
Posted on 3/26/16 at 10:48 pm to txtiger79
Nope, I just got it and the AF wasn't waived which was a bummer. If you don't see a link with one and you're going for it anyway, I'd be happy to send you a referral link for the Ink

I'm not sure if I'm gonna get it yet but go ahead and send it my way. Let me know when you have my email address please.
Also, super shady but anyone know if you can earn the bonus on the ink plus, then downgrade to ink cash (or even cancel the card) and get the annual fee back? I believe the ink plus has a 6 month grace period when the renewal hits so wondering if it applies on the front end too?

Chase would be the last bank I would do this with. Especially if you have a healthy UR balance with them. It just pisses banks off. And they are much better than Citi at reacting too. Imo, this card more than justifies the AF.
On a related note: Why do most people prefer Ink cash over Ink+ anyway? If you consistently get 1.6c-2c per mile on your UR, it is not so hard to cover the AF with the incremental benefits. Plus I know txtiger79 likes to redeem for premium cabins. In that case, the valuation is even higher.

I don't know that anybody does?
I prefer Ink Plus/Freedom/Regular Sapphire set up I have over "Cash/Freedom/CSP when doing MS.
I can maybe see the latter being better in the case where you will never go over 20,000 dollars of 5x on Cash but spend a ton on dining as a regular spender?
I have 1 cash and 2 pluses right now so I don't really have to choose.

Hmm I see. I guess it was just me then. Somehow got the feeling people like Ink Cash over Ink+.
