Yeah I already have a plus and was just going to get another in my wife's name for the bonus points before 5/24 goes into effect. I don't need two on an ongoing basis so one will ultimately get downgraded to a cash.
With the freedom unlimited needing a branch or phone app, would you guys suggest doing that one first and then submitting a second chase app the same day online to consolidate the credit pull?

Hmm I see. I guess it was just me then. Somehow got the feeling people like Ink Cash over Ink+.
You need at least one premium Chase card in order to be able to use transfer partners. I see no reason why the Ink+ wouldn't be that card for everyone.

The AF maybe? Doesn't the regular Chase Sapphire (not preferred) allow you to transfer to travel partners as well?

Nope. You lose 2x travel and primary collision insurance but keep 2x dining.
Inks give you 2x hotel and gas(if needed) so you basically just lose airfare, maybe parking and uber/cabs

I'm beginning to think sapphire preferred, plus ink cash and freedom(s) are the way to go unless you need $50k in 5x availability on the ink. Only one annual fee and you get all the category bonuses I think. What am I missing?
Posted on 3/27/16 at 7:44 pm to txtiger79
The 5x on Ink cash is more like 8-10% on Ink+ if you value UR at 1.6c+. Upto 4-6x if you redeem for hotels/premium cabins. If you prefer 5c per dollar in cash, Cash is the way to go. If you would rather have 5 UR to use at a higher valuation, then Ink+.
Thats really all I think

I assumed ink cash gave UR's that can transfer to CSP just like freedom. Is that not the case?
Edit: just read up on it. Think I'm right. I'm gonna down grade my current ink+ and apply for another ink+ for my wife which I will also downgrade a year from now. Makes the CSP a more permanent part of my wallet for now.

I've been thinking of signing up for Sapphire, currently have freedom and double cash. It seems to me like the Sapphire is not good for long term, just good for the signup bonus. I think I would rather have the 2% cash back on double cash. Am I missing something?

Didn't think of that. Makes it a no brainer really if you have the CSP already. That also answers my question as to why people "prefer" to have the Cash over Plus.
Only thing that concerns me though is that I am not sure if Chase will forever allow conversion of CB to URs. A year ago I would not be worried about that, but never know now. And If they ever did change that rule, then I'd forever be excluded from the Ink's insane earning potential. Hmm. Decisions.

Yeah. I agree. But I'm going to make the assumption they will allow product changes from cash to plus at a minimum. This 5/24 is such a pain. Hopefully I can get 2 more apps approved each for my wife and I.
Does anyone know what number to call to apply for the freedom unlimited? I really don't want to go into a branch and deal with some schmo.

Both times I've applied at a branch, I've walked in and told them that I'd like to apply for X Card. Both times, they then sit me down and proceed to try to sell me on applying for said card by reading (poorly) off of a sheet.
You'd think after you finish a few of their sentences they would get the idea, but no...

Most banks require their bankers to read their disclosures and use their script. Regardless if the customer seems to know everything. They probably even thought you were a mystery shopper

I don't mean disclosures. I mean telling all about the bonus categories and telling me how good of a card it is (which both times has surprised them, as they had no idea about the benefits prior to that moment
).

Last week I was at the Chase branch to open a checking account. Takes forever and while doing that the banker started talking about CCs. She was saying how awesome it is for her to have the SW card she can build all these points from daily spend.
I was like you should get the CSP. Better earning potential, better ancillary benefits and 1:1 transfer to SW plus you get the first year free! (didn't give her my referral yet)
She stuttered and said to me "...and thats what I tell all my customers too"
I did see the FU advertised on every desk along with the Inks and Sapphire. Looks pretty nice tbh
In other news: Angbang has countered Marriott offer with $14B. $1.2B higher than it's own, and later Marriott's offer

Make sure the Hilton points are sent to your Hilton account before you cancel your card too. Unless that is what you meant by posted

Yes, they are showing in my HH account.

If anyone is looking at one of the Chase SW cards, you could save me some MSing with a referral bonus

Applied for chase FU over the phone and went pending. Automated line has 7-10 day message so doesn't look good for the 5/24 rule not applying here as of now.
Went ahead and applied for the ink plus as well to combine the pulls. That one has 2 week status.
Anyone know if ink's can product change to personal cards?

Does anyone know what I should do with 26,000 Hilton Honors points? Their redemption value is terrible, and I cannot find a good transfer partner.
