You forgot airline reimbursement will be $250x2 as well since they go by calendar year.
Would you not be able to make use of 4th night free benefit?
If you can make use of the golf benefit anything close to what you mentioned above - then this sign up is a no brainer. If you stay at hotels more than 4 nights in a row, this card is a no brainer. Remember though - more than 3x is ONLY in Asia.

Likely the 50,000 points will be worth $1,000 to $2,000 minimun and possibly as high as $4-5,000.
How'd you come up with these values? I don't know much about ThankYou points.

Idk about $4-5000. As far as just 50,000 TYP go by themselves, they will get you a RT to europe or south america in economy when transferred to flying blue. First class to Central America , one way business to Europe, North Asia or 55k for SE Asia when transferred to Singapore KrisFlyer. Some of the redemptions originating in North America off the top of my head. 1 way on Singapore's Suites Class is 67,500 from JFK-Europe.

Still waiting on my Citi checking points.
I'm going to start pushing again this month. I hit the qualifications by Dec. 1st.
I haven't gotten mine yet either but I didn't qualify until mid Dec. I emailed then and the CSR said I should get them around my Feb statement. She said it takes 90 days after you qualify so I'll wait until March before emailing again.

As long as I have them before March 22 when I may be able to spend some before the devaluation I'll be OK.

Basically in all the available golf courses in Asia, you can do 3 at EACH rather than 3 total.
That's interesting, I didn't know about that
I got the card in late Nov last year and didn't use it for golf as we were traveling, so I'll "just" get my 3 rounds this year. I'll likely play them here in Hawaii.
I too am trying to figure if I'll keep the card. I won't use the 4th night free that much as my wife works for Hilton and we use points some on hotels. But could see using it here and there. The $250 is obvious so really the fee is $200. The 3 rounds of golf will make me go play so that's a good thing and brings $ value as well. I already did the GE as soon as I got the card but don't need to do it for another 5 years. And the Priority Pass is great. When I stopped over in Seattle a few weeks ago the lady at the lounge said she was jealous of my PP card, so that makes you feel good about it
I have to make more use of the 4th free night to keep it I think, otherwise I'm paying $200 for 3 rounds of golf that I may not use if I'm being honest with myself and Priority Pass which is great, but $200 a year for it?

Thanks for reminder about TY points and the deval. I have 75k so I guess I'll try to use them on AA before then. I did the 50,000 AA miles for the bonus and I probably should've done it on TY points but nobody knew when the deval was coming. At least I could use them on other airlines as well that way. I'll have 160k AA miles when those post. Although we're looking at going to Italy later this year and visiting her family in Latvia so I saw Business class for 50k each from HNL to Rome. I could then use the TY points to buy us the trip back as I saw no good mileage awards for the return..

Ya, I should have 186,000 AA and then 100k TYs between my wife an I. Was thinking the same strategy if need be.

I haven't found any cards that give a bonus category for that, so I usually try to position a minimum spend requirement around both my car and homeowner's insurance bills.

She doesn't have TY points but she does have 100k AA so together we have 260k AA and my 75k TY. I'm going to start searching for TY on the way back and probably pick up those biz class for 50k to ROM tix. It's 1st class to SFO and then biz to ROM.

Thanks. I don't have anew spend needed right now. As I'm not Afro I don't get free mileage offers in my email daily

Sheesh. I need a break from CCs right now.
Between MSing to hit spend bonuses and CC annual fees, I'm a little burned out. Time to let the dust settle and regroup.
Probably spent between $800-$1000 between the two and then the $1k Amazon prepaid. I need to just sit on my hands for a while.
I did get an 80k IHG offer in the mail yesterday from IHG when they sent me my platinum card(downgrading me from Ambassador). I've seen some say they haven't been able to get that, so if anybody needs it, let me know and I'll get link.

Ya either minimum spend or as USAA let's me do, I can use GCs to pay auto so 5x at staples then pay auto bill.

Again - for AA awards, piece them together leg by leg. Also check other destinations to where you can buy a cheap one way from Italy. In my experience some good once are - Paris Orly, HEL, CPH, VCE. Then there is FRA with a little higher tax. Better than paying for a one way back. Look for Air Berlin availability on ba.com or Qantas.
In fact I just did it myself on my most recent booking to Italy in June. I pieced my award together from MSY-MIA, MIA-LHR, LHR-LIN then back from HEL-LHR-ORD-MIA. I could get the second leg changed to MXP-LHR-MIA-MSY however. This award was not showing up if you entered MSY-LIN directly, but I could see availability per leg and on ExpertFlyer. So I called in and fed the info to the rep and she was able to book the award for me in J. I got in the mini cabin on the brand new 777-300ER and that too seat 3A :) for effecrively 90K miles and $190ish (which prestige will cover for me)
The 80K IHG card offer can be received by most people who have some points in their account and have at least gold status. Then just log in to your account and make a dummy booking. In the end you will see an offer for 80k+$50. United is the same. Just have some miles in your acc and you will get the 50K offer.

Does expertflyer generally show award availability for most airlines? For United for example, does it show PN, I, IN, R, RN, X, XN? It's a pain to search now with their new website.

Sorry the 4,000 is probably a reach. Depending on where you transfer, can get a round trip ticket overseas. Thanks if you are able to add to some points, you can possibly fly business class for substantial value.
Posted on 2/3/16 at 6:08 pm to GeauxTigers777
Exactly. Flying business class to Europe gives ridiculous value for 50000 AA Saver miles.
Posted on 2/3/16 at 8:15 pm to txtiger79
Yes absolutely. Do the 5 day trial. You'll be pretty compelled

Wife and I have cards that were both upgraded to World Elite status. We were both just approved for the Platinum card which should give us another 100k miles for a total of $6k spend. Will let you all know how it pans out but as txtiger stated the results are positive on Flyertalk. Might be churning these.
