I haven’t followed stock or this thread so this may have been discussed. Doing a little research and the first hits that come up are environmentally unsafe drilling and storing practices in areas they should be drilling in.

How does this affect the stock and what is recafs position on it? I’ll continue to research it but just wanted to save some time. Is it a big deal or not?

If youre referring to the Nat Geo piece back in the spring, recaf came back strongly against those allegations

I'm not in the industry so I won't even pretend to be an expert. I just try to do my own dd about this company.

They have the full backing of the Namibian government.

They seem to be saying all the right things about doing everything in an environmentally safe way.

LINK /

I think most of the things you are reading and hearing are just activist nonsense to try to dismantle this because of global warming and shite. I'm all for renewable energy and clean energy and definitely support it, but I'm not an idiot and realize that that will take time and while new technology is being developed, we still have to use oil and coal and other traditional means to keep running this world.

This is a pretty good article summing it all up....LINK /

But like I've said, I'm not in the industry and definitely have never been to Namibia, so I couldn't tell you what's happening for sure down there.

As far as this affecting the stock price, it's going to be super volatile until they announce the 2d seismic findings and everything from the 2nd well, which they said should be completed by the end of the month so hopefully sometime in November maybe?

ETA: as far as drilling fluids used, they say they are using a water based fluid that is 100% safe for the environment

I was only able to get up to 1k shares. Wanted to go bigger but I put most of my money in SLI and a couple other, more established stocks/companies.

This is still a highly speculative play, and it could moon with any positive results or tank with any negative results.

I went down a rabbit hole last night after Pierre's post and found a news website out of Namibia called The Namibian.

Definitely lots of accusations thrown towards recaf about certain practices as far as the 2d seismic thumping damaging houses and stuff, as well as issues with water permits and the timeline in which they got those permits, as well as other things. It's concerning of course, but I'm hoping most of it is just push back against developing new oil fields.

Do a little searching on there and you can see for yourself.

I don't know if this is the Fox or CNN of Namibia so I don't know how sensationalized these articles are towards any direction.

The government is behind the company and the drilling. They have all publicly supported it, as well as defended the company by offering facts that dispute many of the tree huggers blanket allegations. The ex prince is some of the money behind the group trashing RECAF. Of course, he has no problem living off of the spoils his family made from consuming Africa’s natural resources. RECAF is drilling, but will also employ locals, provide them with cheap energy and fill the government coffers with tax dollars. They will do more for this country in 5 years than the Brits did in 200.

Here’s what’s going to happen and you can mark this post

1. Seismic data assessed and resource report will be released Early / Mid December

2. On release of that report, Haywood will upgrade their target materially based on the data .

3. An uplist PR will come soon after the the company will start trading on a major exchange latest Jan 2022

4. At uplist, a few days prior or just after Goldman will initiate coverage at a sizeable price target, again based on our seismic

5. Third hole drilled and stock will continue to run

6. I wont give a price target as it really depends on that resource report. but I expect it to be much higher than Haywood’s current of $26 or whatever it was.

That sounds lovely... down 5 figures now and my biggest loser in my portfolio but continuing to add. It’s at 4.25 right now and want to get my DCA down to $5.

Yeah, this sucks for sure. I'm hopeful once the seismic is released and proof of oil this thing will rebound.

I still think the drop is being caused by the negative publicity by Leo and Harry and those scum law firms jumping in now.

I read on ST that the reason behind a couple of the Namibian politicians arguing about this isn't because of oil, but the fact the the country would only get 10% royalties and they want it to be higher. Not sure if that's true or not but that argument would make sense.

The negative stock price has everything to do with Leo, Harry and the money they put behind the bogus suit. No one wants be less named plaintiff in the suit. The allegations are a joke. Going to be fun to watch when the seismic data is made public.
