Has Coinbase increased their transaction fees recently? I had about 13 usd worth of BTC left over and tried to send it to poloniex to buy some XRP. The transaction fee cost more than the amount I was trying to send.

Bitcoin fees are stupid in general. Try Ethereum; I don't believe Coinbase fees are nearly as bad for ETH/LTC

They must be making a killing on transaction fees with all the new users as of lately

None of those new users are being verified because their infrastructure obviously sucks, so they probably aren't making as much as they could be.

I'm about to close my account with Coinbase and try Gemini. I'm tired of waiting for that verification shite.

ETA: Gemini not any better...

Brand new to all of this.

What is the fastest way I can buy bitcoin? Wanting to purchase into Ripple tonight but Coinbase is taking forever just to verify.

For those of you who recently signed up for these exchanges I recommend being patient. Most of these issues you all are dealing with are quite recent due to the recent high influx of new users among other things

Don't buy BTC through Coinbase. The fees are sky high and the transfer time to any other exchange could take hours. Took me 7 hours the other day to get like .07 BTC.

Buy Litecoin because it has the lowest fees. Then transfer Litecoin to GDAX and exchange your Litecoin for USD to then buy BTC. No fees and instant trades on GDAX.

Can you use GDAX directly rather than use Coinbase at all? Only asking because I can't even complete my verification with Coinbase.

Man it would be great if there was one place where I could go USD to Ripple.
