Buying a car online

Found a car online we want to buy. The dealership recommended wiring the money in full (they will not hold with only deposit) for the car tomorrow and flying up (the soonest we could make it over is Saturday) to pick it up. My attorney discourages us to do this, though. He wants us to give them the money once we are there to pick up the car.
Or, we could have it shipped for practically the same price as a plane ticket with fox auto transfer. Has anyone used this company? Or, does anyone have experience or advice buying a car out of state and online?
First time for us as we’ve always bought local and financed. First time paying cash.

Fox auto transfer is legit.
As for wiring the money I don't see the big deal, as long as you do your due diligence on the dealership AND make sure that's actually who you're in contact with (double check email address, call number on their website to verify),

What are some other options I am not thinking of?
The money is in an online savings account, not checking. In order to transfer into checking, it takes 3 business days. Should I look into financing with them then just pay it off in full right away? I feel like there are several options I’m not thinking of

Bank check from your savings account when picking up in person.

This. Wire fraud is an epidemic right now. And one of the hardest forms of theft to ever recover what was stolen. I'd exhaust every other option before doing it.

Honestly, if they won't sell it to you on your terms, I'd find somewhere else. I wouldn't wire them anything ahead of time.
Any reputable dealership should hold the vehicle for one day with a deposit.

Setting aside the obvious potential for fraud, I would never pay for a vehicle without getting in it and driving it around.
Is this a hard to find car?
I would tell the dealer you will send them a deposit (I would use a credit card over the phone, not a wire, after being sure to verify the dealership is legit) and then get up there to look at it.
If the dealer won't accept those terms, then I would keep looking.
Unless it's a car that typically is sold within hours of arriving on site, I can't imagine they would't accept those terms.

No way I'd wire them the money. I purchased a new truck in Arkansas at the end of 2016. They asked for my cc to put a $500 deposit down on the truck. I gave it to them however, my sales guy didn't even run it after I emailed him my plane ticket. He said later that he knew I was coming.
The dealership had been in touch with Keesler re: my financing and everything was good. They picked me up at the airport and I put a little money down on the truck at the dealership. I was on my way home by noon. Crazy thing is the dealership called me about a week later saying they hadn't received the money from Keesler yet. After a couple phone calls, everything was worked out but it was crazy thinking back that I drove off that lot to come back home out of state and they only had a few thousand dollars of my money.

That's some BS. I bought my last car 4hrs away. Truck was dropped off at dealer on a Wednesday, I picked it up on Friday. I worked out with salesman on the Monday before. He held it for me all week, although I was willing to pay a deposit. No way in hell I'd wire full amount of payment. It is beyond crazy to me that they won't take your deposit. Other posters are correct - wire fraud is rampant right now and the thieves are very very thorough.

Earlier this week I bought a car out of state for the 6th time in the last several years. Never has a dealer refused to hold a car for me with just a deposit. When I bought my Vette in April in Knoxville, they were even willing to hold it several weeks for me, though on that one I put $5k down up front instead of just a few hundred deposit.

Thanks everyone! They ended up holding the car with proof of purchase of plane ticket. They are picking us up at airport and we are financing through them, but paying it off in full early (like next week). They have guaranteed me no penalty for pre payment. Is there anything I am missing or should do differently? I don’t want to pay any interest or fees at all. We have already agreed and confirmed total price of car.
